    the video card that comes with it is not good enough to play modern games. is it possible to buy a better video card like an nvida card and put it in myself of could i get it custom added by the manufacturer

    No. I believe all Timelines come with the Intel 4500MHD which is not respectable for recent games as you stated. Best to look for a laptop with a dedicated GPU.
