Hello all, I cannot seem to find any good review on the performance of the Geforce 7150. I am considering a notebook, and I would like to either go with a toshiba with an intell 3100 or an hp with a Geforce 7150.
My main Question is if anyone has bought a laptop with the 7150 in it and played some games on it, im not looking for super high quality, but it needs to be playable aka 25 fps+ in fairly recent games, partiularly MMOs like WOW or EQ2. Any thoughts?
-
It's 'cause we don't really know. It should be able to handle those MMO's smoothly though.
-
Well thats encouraging, im not trying to play Bioshock on high settings, but even if I can run at modest settings and get good framerates im happy. I am not sure why no one knows though, there are several laptops for sale right now with thiss GPU and those people are holding out on us! Dish the info!
-
Because people who buy laptops with integrated cards aren't looking to game on them. It's probably not going to be able to handle Bioshock even at the lowest settings.
-
Check out the reviews of it's desktop equivalent, the 7050, for a basic idea of what you can expect.

Edit: As for Bioshock, I believe the 7150 is better than the x3100, if that's so Bioshock will run on lowest settings, but with very poor framerates. -
Ok so it has been 2 weeks, has anyone out there bought a laptop with this card in it and tested it out, im interested to know what kind of performance its capable of.

Here's a benchmark of Geforce 7150 and G33(GMA 3100)
http://www.hkepc.com/?id=176&page=6#view
Its 20-30% faster than the X3100.
And Bioshock does run on the X3000, so probably will run on the X3100 too. It crashes after a while, and it is laggy but it runs. -
holy crap, if you are interested in performance then you should consider an actual dedicated card, they can be found on sub 1000 notebooks.

I got one in a hp DV2620ca (Canada) model. Iam playing Fear; everything half way @1078x768. IMO it rocks ,,really

Hmm im kinda kicking myself. From the lack of news, i figured the 7150 was equal in performance to the 6150. Looks like it's currently the best integrated solution even over the x3100 and the ati x1250/x1270. Damn that sux lol
-
What we need is more posts like Barie's, the only way we can tell performance of the card is to see how it does in real games. If anyone has a 7150 in their laptop, please chime in!
-
well it looks like nvidia did with 6150, which was better than ati x200m on 7150
-
Don't play any new games, but I have run 3Dmark03 and got 1418 score on the machine in my sig after a clean install of the OS. Not sure of the driver version and don't have access to it at the moment. I do know the driver was released in early September.
-
wow, 1000+ is pretty exceptional for an integrated graphics card; my ati x200m had like half of that roughly.... tempting -

Just a few more scores for the inquisitive:
to recap 3DMark03=1418
3DMark2001=3931
3DMark2005=727 -

Thorough review of a GeForce 7150M? Can't imagine where you'd find one of those...
-
hey guys sorry for the bump, I might buy a laptop with this graphic card, has anyone checked whether Heroes Might and Magic V laggy or not with this one?
-
It's a little late but I have one and am able to play BF2:SF on mid settings at 800x600 with decent fps (35-40)
That the most graphically intense one, but I get some pretty nice images out of Civ 4 and Guild Wars with fps in the 40-50.
The best thing I have found is when playing is to turn aero off and kill all uneeded processes. Hope this helps. -
Why do people ressurect dead threads?
-
Cause they didn't get the info they wanted/needed....or they just like to boost their post count.
-
I've purchased one and have been impressed on most games, have played the crysis demo on it. Set on the lowest settings, alittle laggy, but this is crysis, the most intense graphics as far as i know on a pc game. Hope this helps you.
