Does anyone know if the Adaptec Gamebridge 1410 can handle a widescreen monitor? I've read where some people have had issues. One guy said that it puts a box around it I don't know what he meant though. Anyone got any ideas about it?
Not sure if it's relevant but I'll be using it to play games (Xbox and Xbox 360 and watch TV shows.)

Theres no reason why it shouldn't, it works fine for me.
-
GREAT! lol that's the only worry I was having. I have a 17" widescreen and I love it. I use to hate widescreen until I got this notebook now I want everythign I watch and play to be widescreen.
*day dreams of playing Oblivion*
-
so this thing will let you use your laptop screen to play on an xbox 360 ?
-
Yup, neat huh?
-
sweet i think ill get one if i get enough for a 360 sometime soon lol
-
Well, don't expect 720p quality, the 1410 is an inexpensive solution for gaming. I have an external LCD(20" WS) and my notebook is 15" standard, if some games comes in WS mode, you cna play in either.
-
well i planning to buy one
but ....
would it able to play in fullscrenn in my laptop with that??
because sometimes comp's cpu and gpu is slow to play on full screen -
The CPU/GPU doesn't really play a part in anything, as it only displays from the GameBridge, as its the console that's being used to play the game.
-
hmm then
why some people have problem with them?? -
Does this work with vista? I jumped on it when it went on sale. The adaptec site says no vista support but >_< buyers remorse, click before think...
My future intended laptop will run vista and I somehow dont think it will work. -

Sorry it took me a while...
Just run the driver software under compatibility/Admin mode for XP sp2
I used AMcap to display... XP sp2 compatiblity/admin
Im not a big fan of the bundled software so didn't try it.
Works pretty well didn't really get to really really test it out (like for lag) because most of my stuff is wired very nicely to my TV so don't want to mess it up >_<
Oh yeah... -_- Vista Home basic. -
I've never been able to do a normal install of the drivers under compatibility xp sp2 mode. I'd always get the message:
"Adaptec Gamebridge AVC-1410/1510 Loader
The system cannot find the file specified."
I figured out how to manually install the gamebridge....to some extent. I copied the drivers folder to my hard disk and made copies of and renamed avcgbdr.in_ (setup info for the device) and avcgbfl.in_ (setup info for loader), and then renamed them to avcgbdr.inf and avcgbfl.inf respectively. Through device manager I installed the drivers for the gamebridge by pointing it to the drivers folder on my hard disk. It managed to install successfully.
However, when I try Intervideo Home Theater I get no video image or audio when trying to watch tv. If I try to play a game I get no image, but I do get sound. I've never liked using other software with the gamebridge instead of Home Theater because the video image quality is usually always poorer and I could never play games. My system is dual-boot with XP and Vista, so I can still go into XP if I want to use the gamebridge, but I'd really like it if I could get it working with Vista. Can anyone offer any assistance?
I have Vista Ultimate x86 (32-bit) BTW
