Hey guys...I'm wondering if it's possible to adjust the mipmap LOD bias on this netbook. I tried it on my desktop a while ago, with an 8800GT graphics card using RivaTuner. With a simple registry tweak, I could adjust the LOD bias from -15 to +15. When I had it set to +15, games were almost unrecognizably low-quality. Nothing had textures; guns and buildings and people were basically single-colored shapes. This is what Modern Warfare 2 looked like on my 8800GT with mipmap LOD bias set at +15:
I want to be able to do this on my netbook, which has a comparatively weak nVidia ION, and would actually benefit substantially from the lowered graphics.![]()
I installed RivaTuner, but it doesn't seem to work. As in, I have no options to tweak anything. Does anyone know how I could do this on my netbook? My desktop is toast, and this is pretty much the only thing I can play on, so I'd like to get decent framerates.

I have a 8400M GS, after copper mod (search in this forum) and overclocking, I can get consistent 60FPS (capped) in COD6. Personally I tested and found that minimap LOD has very little impact on performance, like 1 or 2 frames when u set it to +5. Anything higher and the game will look like 5 years old's drawing.
So I don't think minimap is going to help, overclock if you really need the frames.
about the Rivatuner thing, some laptop manufacturer seems to have locked down their cards, my friend's Acer laptop has the same problem as you, I tried installing custom driver using driver cleaner and it doesnt work. Btw, I am using dell and rivatuner works.
hope this helps
