    My card is a desktop card but I'm sure it works the same for mobile cards so here I go.

    When I used to have an Nvidia card, I could just turn on AA & AF through the control panel and I'd see differences right away.

    Under ATI, when I switch the settings through the control panel, nothing happens. I need to set them up through the games, but some, like SC2, do not offer that option (also, in-gamme AA is always MSAA >_>).

    Is that generalized under ATI or...?

    Also, I know AF is free on Nvidia cards, but is it supposed to destroy my framerates under ATI?

    Try this program.
    It enables you to set profiles for each game (like the nvidia control panel).
    RadeonPro :: Radeon Profiles Tool

    As for AF, i havn't noticed much of a dip on my ati's compared to the nvidias i had before...

    AF is free on Nvidia cards? That's news to me. My old GTX 260M and 8800M GTX used to get bogged down when I had AF too high, didn't seem too free to me on those cards. On my Desktop 5850 it handles AF pretty damn good I must say.

    As for the setting, in CCC the default settings for AF and AA are "let the application decide". So you'll have to adjust it in game, or you can force it to whatever you like from the CCC but it'll force it on all the games you play.
