    After GTA IV the gpu has gone mad ....

    Hello guys,

    I noticed it after i played GTA my GPU is still 68 and sometimes goes to 70-73 ( Fan doesnt stop ) while im doing nothing on the laptop,
    I restarted,shutdown...nothing


    is this normal ?


    Alienware M17x.
    Nvidia 9800M GT SLI latest driver.
    Zalman cooler 2000.

    Can you check your clocks (I'd suggest using GPU-z, just google it and run)? Perhaps the clocks were stuck at load speeds.

    Do you have SLi enabled? This will make the cards clocked at full speed even if you're doing nothing.

    okay here is the screenshots with SLI for the 2 cards

    PS: later I disabled the sli but it it still gives me the reading of 68-69.

    Actually not, this is what temperatures I get when my graphics card is running at full clocks. And according to the screen shots, SLi is still enabled, which is why the they're are running at their full speed while doing nothing.
