Anyone else excited for this one? It looks awesome.
Do you think it will play on a 64 MB x600?
-
Yeah, looks very cool. My question was going to be will it play on my IG? LOL, I think you'll be more than fine.

I so can't wait for this one to come out. I have been cruising the web site for a release date.... can't find any? Any one out there know, I really hope soon. Any demos? All I have found were screen shots and a trailer. I went and reloaded AOE II to get back into the feel of the series.

Looking forward to it as well! Big fan of Strategy games.

I LOOOOOOOVE this series....played it too much on and off line.... i think its coming out beginning of next year...dont take my word for it though...
Cant WAIT!!!
The grafxs look real nice... all i know is that Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends is coming out sooner than AOE III....that game looks preaty cool to ...you guys should check it out. -
I heard Nov. 3 of this year might be the release date, but for some reason I think it will be closer to january of next year.
I play AOE II almost every day. I am really good at it now. Yesterday I played a match in which I finished with 944 kills and only 177 deaths.
I'm really excited for AOE III. I have read some early reviews. The buildings all collapse uniquely. It is now much more difficult (even impossible?) to take out buildings with militia, you now need artillary. The water looks very realistic and the graphics in general resemble a role playing game more than an RTS.
There is also a new concept of the Home City, which takes the place of the Town Center. -
fishfood,
is there any unique units per civilization as in the first two in the series??

I haven't been following this game, but I enjoy Age of Empires II. I'm not good at it and I don't play it very often, but it is a great game for LAN play.
It's hard to play alone, though. I can't seem to find much enjoyment from playing solo. I'll admit, I have played a few campaigns that were very fun (and single player), but I much prefer the LAN mode.
I'll definately be looking into this game, once it gets closer to its release date. -
Still, I enjoyed the first two (and actually even more so their most famous rip-off, Galactic Battlegrounds...but then again I'm a Star Wars fan), and the graphics do look spectacular. Very, very, very intricately detailed. *Kisses GeForce Go6800* *Burns lips* *Screams* -
I read somewhere that AOE III is supposed to support PixelShader 3.0
-
It wouldn't surprise me at all; PS3.0 is catching on in action games already. I know for a fact it's used in FarCry (with the latest patches), Painkiller (again, with latest patches), and Chaos Theory. I'm not positive, but Doom 3: RoE may use PS3.0 to an extent as well.

Hey Everybody,
Check out the Sept. 2005 Volume 12 Number 9 issue of PC Gamer. It has a really good article aqbout 2006 being the year of the "RTS Revolution". Can't miss it it is on the stands now with that title splashed across the cover. All I gotta say is I'm going to broke this year with all these games coming out! lowlymarine, fishfood is right you need arty to smack down buildings. Screen shots look real, real good. Any release dates yet???, Unfortunately I have found none!!
