I've recently attempted to play Age of Empires III on my Averatec 3270 Notebook. It works just fine, on all the lowest settings, with one big ol' problemo. The mouse pointer is invisible when still, and flickers about when moved. It looks like it is being drawn behind the actual game instead of on top. The only compatability issue is my video card is 32MB and the recommended is 64MB. This "requirement" has been on other games that all have worked just dandy, so I doubt that's the core reason. I was wondering if any has heard of this, and, if so, a solution.

Age of Empires III is a newer game - have you updated to the latest video drivers for your card? That could help.
What are the specs of your notebook by the way? -

The only thing I'm curious about as far as correctness of this is that this reports my DirectX version as 6 point whatever, but dxdiag says I have 9... and I know I have 9 because I manually installed it myself. But yeah that's what I got... -
ur OS is eating all ur memory so that would cause a lot of problems too
-
What can I do about that?
-
Make sure programs that aren't needed get shut down before launching the game.
-
Any other ideas to solve this problem?
