What do you guys think of this game and its expansion? I am currently looking to buy a new game because WoW and Simcity 4 are not cutting it anymore for enjoyment (WoW still is fun however, just cutting back). I am looking into Age of Empires III and its expo as a choice, what are your feelings about this game, and if you have another reccomendation...lets hear it ;)

AOE III and Warchiefs were both fun. It was fun for a while, but then it got boring. What kind of games do you like?

If you like strategy style try Dawn of War.

Age of Empires III is alright for a bit but like tiger said, it gets boring.

imo, the most fun RTS for me are rise of nations: rise of legends, lord of the rings battle for middle earth 2, and comany of heroes. C&C3 demo was pretty good as well.

I'm mostly in FPS and if you want a long term game for online play as well as campaing, i'd go with COD2, FEAR (multiplayer is free), and battlefield 2 or 2142

if you have played AOE I and II, AOE III will keep you tied to it for a little longer.. each level up there is something to look forward to (even though its something as small as 6 longbowmen)

but if u really liked other AOE games, u will like this one also..

I ended up buying AOE III tonight and am currently playing it. So far I like it. It takes awhile to get used to, It seems alot more complex unit wise than WC III TFT, which is the other RTS I played alot of. We will see how it goes thropugh the campeign. Is the multyplayer any good? My only gripe as of now is that it cost 50 bucks, the game came out two years ago >.<

The game looks very nice.. especially on high settings. It may seem confusing at first but it just seems more intimidating than it actually is... the cards and everything are really just power ups you get.

Multiplayer is pretty well set up.. it has all the functions a RTS would need including clan lists, high scores, etc.

The units I think are generally the same as AOEII.. you have infantry (and all civilizations have different infantry selections), cavalry, ranged, and cannons, the 4 basic units of AOEII are in AOEIII...

Well after a few days of playing the campeigns and stuff. I suck. Haha I'm so slow in my unit production and age development. I have no idea on how to flank and stuff. I find it ironic how certain cannons like the falconet are great against infantry and stuff, but terrible against buildings. This game requries alot more strategy than Warcraft III ever did.
