So Aion is on sale right now for $10 on Steam. Which is a killer deal for one month of game time and pets and ingame items. Normally one month game time is $15 so this is less than that and you get some bonus items.
We're currently on NA servers Asmodian race and Zikel server and we're active as hell, so I can recommend this game for you guys to try out for that price.
lemme know if you have any questions and lemme know if you need a referal for free demo try before you commit to buying :)

haha, yeah, mmo's are pay to play, depends who likes what kind of games and who can afford what. I find $15 not a big deal, others will refuse to pay anything past buying a game, different genres for different ppl :p

A free month indeed but I heard that the community base of Aion isn't that large and the game gets... Quite boring after lvl30s

But then again that's what people say :p

I'm lvl 55, there's so many things to do, that I don't have time to do it all, pvp, sieges, pve, crafting, gathering, broker, getting new legioneers.
I also heard that Aion is loosing players, but so far we're not running into such trouble.

I would love to play it as it sounds great but what if I get addicted the first free month, then i play the entire year after paying $180!?? I can't risk that ;)

If WoW Cataclysm hadn't just come out I would probably have jumped on this as I played the Aion beta but had cancelled my pre-order after as I didn't really get into it, might be willing to give it another go sometime.

Maybe in a few months if I lose interest in WoW i'll go back on my hunt for a new MMORPG, but for now i'm having fun.

I always found having a second mmo compliments your main mmo cause it gives you a different taste/feel/angle between the two. I use to play wow and swg and after playing wow for hours It would feel so relaxing to jump into swg. It made swg a better game then it actually was.

Aion was cool for a month or two... and then it gets boring... It had a good idea behind it, but there isnt enough single player content to keep the average person interested unless you have a group of freinds going around doing PVP.

Actually it's the other way around.
There's anough quests to overwhelm you, you can quest from lvl 1 to lvl 55 and never run out.
You can craft, gather recipes, gather materials and try to become a master or simply try to make money.
You can gather as much as you want, hit those hard to get items in lands that are hard to get to.
You can access single player instances, there's 3 or 4, can't remember, you no longer need a group, you can run these solo.
You can rift into enemy territory and try to kill ppl.

I don't get how you can say there's no single player content.
Plus it's an mmo, the title itself says massive multiplayer, games like these are ment to play in groups not solo, you can solo as much as you want, but then what ? You can lvl cap, you can master crafting, you can get best gear, but any mmo in this genre will b pointless to play for single player content.

He probably hasn't played since all these new 2.0 patches (neither have I)
And as far as crafting goes, getting stuff to proc is stupid, especially to advance onto the next level. And there weren't enough quests to level once you hit about 35. Yes, you can run FT, but the XP sucks around lvl 35. Yes, you can run MM, but it takes a lot longer than FT. Yes, I could solo the MM elites. I was getting like 640,000 XP a kill (think it was double XP weekend) combined with a Lodas amulet it was like 800,000 XP a kill.
It took me an hour to level that way. Without double XP or lodas you only get like 300,000 XP a kill. Not very good leveling.

I'm sure things have changed with these recent updates, but being an original player, the original content was not enough to hold me.

S2odin, would probably be correct... I played it the first 1-2 months it came out... I found myself grinding to get to higher levels. I stand corrected if this problem has been fixed with the latest patches. I havent kept up with the game.

I guess i just figured it would have a larger world then WOW... and i could get into it a lot more then i did... I had high hopes for it, but was let down with my playing experience...

Like all Korean mmo's I found Aion long and grindy, I don't mind killing away but it is very shallow and work like. I already have another job I don't want another. Aion is very copy-cat of WOWC, collect x amount of whatever to get your poor experience. Next mission do the same. Uhh yeh ok. Dungeons were also ridiculously easy when first released and the abyss was an utter joke that favoured certain classes. How was the abyss innovative when they just threw a bunch of monsters into a PVP area so the unlucky one could drag them all over the place? Honestly the flying mechanic in aion was good on paper but again laughable in reality. Mass PVP was such a mess you could only see red names take over your screen. To me Aion tried to take lots of ideas from previously successful mmos, in the process make a grindy, flimsy game that looked great to the eye but was so terribly shallow and pointless.
