    Slick is perfectly right. The only things that you should think about if you need the Killer Wireless or Blu Ray-Drive. :)

    200 for a bluray drive up grade is insane!

    NP...have fun with it. A laptop with xfire 7970m's is serious horsepower. The days of people having to compromise with a game's graphical settings because they are on laptops is no more.

    Killer wireless maybe but the blue ray drive is an expensive upgrade. It is expensive because it is a slot-load bluray drive. So dell figures it will gouge you a little on it. I wouldn't do it. Instead, if you really need blueray, for ~$100, you can get an external blue ray burner

    It's a 100$ not 200$ upgrade, so imo it's not that expensive because it's a slot-load drive.

    yeah, you're right, i went to alienware.com, it is a $100 upgrade, NOT $200, so that's ok, especially for a slot-load drive

    I was configuring a 14x not a 17. It's 200 for the 14 that's the confusion.

    @gaidin43:
    If you look on page 5, Slick was talking about a M18x configuration. And yes for the M14x it's 200$. That's strange and also imo too expensive.

    I finally cracked and went for the M17x with Powernotebooks - Donald (bless him) matched the price I was paying Malibal with just one tweak that I can put right on NewEgg, and it should ship early next week.

    Now all I have to do is book a week off work in order to enjoy the monster that will arrive!!!

    I priced out an m14x and the best offer was $1614 for i7 ivy with upgraded screen, intel wireless, and bluray.

    I asked for no hard drive and no os and they obviously said that they can't do that.

    My sager has better equipment and cost 300 less.

    I guess I'll wait and see if the new XPS 15 has a decent GPU.
