I had it check it on canyourunit website and it says that i can run the game perfectly fine but i noticed my gpu overheats and sometimes my laptop shuts down, also i downloaded afterburner to see how hot it can get, it shows that my gpu temperature reaches around 68c when running guild wars, does this happen to any other 7970m gpu owner? I also updated my drivers and it didn't resolve the issue.

    68C is a normal temperature.

68C is well below when the GPU shuts down.

Your laptop generally shuts itself down as prevention at 95C, on certain systems at 100C and I've even seen 105C. So either your computer is indeed at 68C and is reading the temp wrong, or the software is displaying the temp wrong.
Try getting RealTemp, run it, send it to system tray checked on Maximum (which shows the max temps it's reached while on) and see if you get the same results. 68C is actually a low temp for high settings GW2 gameplay, though the M17X R4 has very good cooling.

^My thoughts exactly. If your computer manages to maintain 68C then wow.
