If you can hear the game in the back, then it is most likely the GPU. If you purchased/extended your warranty, call tech support but then I suppose you wouldn't post here if you did.

So that would mean replacing the GPU but the R1 does not support a lot of more recent GPUs. AFAIK, the 5870 CF is the most it can do.

Have you tried a different video driver just in case?

yes but the 304 not the latest, i could not find any latest modified version cos if i download the normal nvidia driver it will not install on the R1 cos they are not supported anymore by nvidia, i have tried also a lower driver version officaly from dell but it still gives black screen, the 260 still do well in current gen games thats why i dont want to just put this laptop away

for the 260 i honestly can sy that 186.81 was the best for that card.

search here NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Advanced Search

as nvidia 260gtx is showing up with the latest drivers 331.65 but if you only use modified drivers then i have no idea.

MrDJ you mean the 331.65 does not stop you when installing? thx for the info for the 186.81 but u trid alot dofferent drivers sometimes it does not even give ma display when u swith to 260, i think one of the cards has become fualty and i dont know if dell still can change it to another working 260
