Who's your favorite character from a PC game and why? Voice, look, storyline, behavior...?
Minsc, from Baldur's Gate, is mine...after all these years, I can start up a game and he still cracks me up. A ranger with a screw loose and a pet miniature, giant hamster. "Hold your nose Boo, we shall leave no crevice untouched". Great character for a great game.
Favorite voice is Deckard Cain from Diablo series. "Stay awhile, and listen"

Hmm....probably HK-47 from KOTOR and KOTOR 2 for being so funny and awesome.
-
Mani Calivera or Glotus (SP?) from Grim Fandango. There is actually a book written by a fan that is the complete story, thing is like 200 pages long. If you get a chance look it up.

It's a tie between Andrew Ryan ( Bioshock) and Capt. Price ( COD4)
-
Solid Snake, from all the metal gear solid games. It's because he's been in games spanning three different consoles and he still rocks. It's also because I grew up playing metal gear and man, he was cool back then and he's just as cool if not cooler now. Except maybe that he's old. His characterization was pretty awesome too. BTW I realize that MGS 2 starred Raiden but Snake was what I was hoping to play on that game. Also MGS 3 starred Big Boss but he was very similar to the character of Solid Snake.

Hannah Montana FTW!!!
On a more serious note when not revealing what sort of games I really like... I like Jack Carver from Farcry and CJ from GTA SA -
Duke Nukem

Dante or maybe Nero from DMC4, its recent in my mind because I am playing that game right now, but I just love his attitude, gives him a lot of character.
I have other favorite characters but they are from console games back in the day, for PC I really cant think of too many. -
Nathan Drake from Drakes Fortune, Kratos from God of War, and Probably Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid and probably Psycho from Crysis

Coolest looking characters would be the Shadowlords from Ultima 5.
Funniest character would either be Minsc from the Baldur's Gate series, Brucie from GTA4, or HK-47 from SW:KOTOR -
JC Denton - DeusEx
Postal dude - Postal -
Cloud-ff7
/10 char -
Kyle Katarn - Dark Forces and Dark Forces 2
-
Wow alot of these are good, gotta agree with Duke Nukem, JC Denton, Max Payne and Kyle Katan. Gotta add Dr. Freeman for the Half-Life serious (and the hundreds of Barneys) as well as the G-Man.
-
All time favorite PC game character would be Kael'thas Sunstrider from World of Warcraft. End boss of Tempest Keep of the Burning Crusade expansion, probably one of the most fun, intense, and rewarding epic boss encounters I've ever experienced. This includes the years raiding NToV, the Sleeper, the various planes, and PoP gods in EQ.
The voice of Kael'thas Sunstrider, coincidentally, is the same voice actor that was used in some of the games mentioned in this thread, such as Metal Gear for example. -
Guybrush Threepwood from the Monkey Island Series. Best character ever!!!

Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Lara Croft - Sucker for a sexy figure and UK accent, even if it is CGI.
-
Verlane ~ World of Warcraft
Limahl ~ Lord of the Rings Online
Tag Heuer ~ Eve Online
Honourable mentions: Minsc (Baldur's Gate), Duke Nukem, Manny Calavera (Grim Fandango), Morte (Planescape: Torment) -

I would also like to say, Dante, Solid Snake, Max Payne, AND I'll throw in:
G-man, Kerrigan, Zeratul... oh pretty much most of the cast in starcraft, GLaDOS...
but if it's 'all-time' favorite then I have to pick Kerrigan, just an absolutely amazing character, bone chillingly evil and sexy at the same time, so powerful and manipulative, I can't wait to see her return in SC2, but I hear it may be a different voice actor -
Alex (HL2) - because she is a useful and hot AI companion
Gordon Freeman (HL2) - for developing a character without saying a word
G-man - for being the most enigmatic and mysterious game character ever created
Kane (C&C series) - for his over-the-top flamboyance and baldness
Commander Shepard (Mass Effect) - because you can be the biggest jerk in the world
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sy-eRfupYbA
Urdnot Wrex (Mass Effect) - for his blunt honesty and bad-a** attitude that reminds me of Clint Eastwood
Altair (Assassin's Creed) - for the best medieval combat, hands down
Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell) - he's not much of a character (just like Altair) but he is efficient, stealthy, and just plain cool. -
I second Guybrush Threepwood! Monkey Island must have been one of the first computer games I ever played
-
Kreia from KoTOR 2: TSL. Epic character, epic voice acting.
There's a big bunch from SWG, too. -
poop I forgot Commander Shepard, I was also going to say Kreia cause of the voice-acting but she creeps me out
-
Francis - L4D - <3

Duke Nukem

Good thread topic. I liked Carth from KOTOR, great character and great voice acting.
Crowe from Far Cry is another. -

-
zoey, louis, francis and bill.
-
Cloud from FInal Fantasy VII
-
Don't know if it quite counts, but the "conciousness" from Alpha Centauri. I have to admit, that was one of the most immersive game stories I've ever played.
-
The G-Man from Half Life 2 series.
-
Villain/Villainess: LeChuck (Monkey Isle series), Shodan (System Shock)
Tough Guy/Gal: Duke Nukem, Serious Sam, Ben (Full Throttle), Tanya Adams (Red Alert)
Good Guy/Gal: Minuteman (Freedom Force), Alyx (Half-Life 2)
And the winner for me...ta da...Dog (Half-Life 2) -
Cloud from FFVII, if ports count.
Jim Raynor from StarCraft if we're going straight PC Games. -
The computer from portal, evil nasty thing...
or
The Weighted Companion Cube. -
For just games on PC- Have to say Nomad from Crysis
-
For my pick, I didn't even realize that characters can have their own distinct personalities until I started Mass Effect last month. This may be due to my FX being the first computer with a GPU that I've ever owned. So Comm. Shepard and Wrex have to get my votes. "Shepard". "Wrex". -
lara croft!?
-
I could also say the Seals (?) in CSS.
But I'm mainly a console gamer, and I wanted to just state one of my PC only game's character. -
The heavy weapons guy
-
Sam Fischer - Splinter Cell without a doubt!
-
-
Master Chief from Halo Series! Yeahh
hehehe
-
Well all of the characters from L4D are amazing.
-
MY RUNESCAPE CHARACTER!
no, but seriously, i'd say Red XIII or Psycho. -
-
Marcus Fenix - Gears of war
Prince of persia (forgot his name) - prince of persia series
Akuma - Street fighter 4
-
Howitzer225 Death Company Dreadnought
Master Chief/Spartan 117/That guy in the green Mjolnir armor suit
-
Big Boss - MGS3/4, MG1. Ok, not technically PC, but PS2/3. Still the most inspiring character ever... his story brings me to tears. Something like 20 years after his "death", his clones and friends are fighting over his "body" and their interpretations of his vision for the world. He'd take down Jack Bauer, James Bond, Jason Bourne and anyone else with initials JB any day.
Liberty Prime - Fallout3. The man (robot) is full of amazingly funny quotes. And he/it saves your life in the expansion! The character design for Liberty Prime is just outstanding, from the model used to the voice to the quotes to the weapons.
Zoe - Dreamfall. One of the best/least well known RPG/Adventur games of all time, she's a character I instantly connected with. Bears an uncanny resemblance to the next character.
Zoey - L4D. A college girl that survives the zombie apocalypse? By virtue of not being amazing in any way, she's amazing.
All-time favorite PC game character
