I am on a slow connection and have a cap and I've tried 3 times already. I've gotten to 49% twice then it gets stuck and doesn't download anymore. 3rd time while downloading, it said it encountered an error. I've already wasted like 6GB trying to download this patch, it's ridiculous.![]()
I wish Origin would make this in batches, it would be so more friendly towards people with slow/bad connection. At this rate I'll never play online..
Is there any other solution to downloading this? Like where I can download using my download manager that actually has a working resume function...

that's what you get for buying EA crap.
there's no other solution you have to download from origin servers that don't allow the incredible and extremely complex feature of download resuming.
What you can is to download the patch elsewhere if someone posts a link to a hosted server. But tracks and EA shuts down those. good luck. -
There is no alternative to patching Battlefield 3.
I dont know why it would have troubles patching the game, as it finished fast enough for me.
Origin also let me download faster than what Steam can do. -

he's saying he has a spotty connection, which is the source of the problem, but it's being exacerbated by the fact that he has to download from origin, which isn't doing a good job of managing the intermittent download.
If it's a laptop, I would take it to some place with free wifi. -
Thanks for clarifying for me.
My connection isn't super fast, but I've been able to download up to 200 KB/s from Origin. Though I noticed it only does that at a certain % of the patch, the rest i download from 50 KB/s to 80 KB/s. Which isn't bad actually, but the patch itself will not download anymore once it hits a certain % and other times I will get errors.
If Origin would have just made these in batches or have better auto resuming function, I wouldn't have much of an issue with them.
But anyways, I did find a link from Google, where someone found a workaround, hopefully he'll put the patch back up (his server is down atm) and I can finally play BF3 in 3D and online...
It is indeed a laptop, if all else fails I may have to go to my local library or something. -

they aren't very likely to offer fast connections, but they should offer stable connections.
also, many commercial businesses offer free wifi -
Yeah, I'd say just hang out at a starbucks or other coffee place and download it while enjoying a nice hot beverage.
Alternative site to downloading BF3 Huge 3.9GB patch?
