Happens with every game I have since I bought this notebook (ccurs both to 3d and 2d games). Whenever I play, distant textures (even close textures depending of the game) may get "moving" or "shaking" edges, while the game may show light flickering or pixelated shadows. Some games (ex.: borderlands 2) may show lower performance than they should (I doe not use physx on it btw)

I have a HD 8850m dedicated gpu and an Intel cpu and I -cannot- manually force my dedicated gpu to ac (not even through BIOS)
I hope the problem is not related to z-fighting ( Z-fighting - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
This I have tried: -Updating BIOS
-Contacting manufacturer (they "can't do nothing about it")
-Trying 5 different drivers (incluing the most recent and Dell's one)
-Restoring my computer to factory defaults (did this many times)
-Using AMD enduro fix for directx 9
Also, sorry for my english

Ok do this.. Run Display Driver Uinstaller and uninstall all your Intel and AMD drivers
Then download the AMD 14.11.2 beta drivers from here: http://www2.ati.com/drivers/beta/amd-catalyst-14.11.2beta-64bit-win8.1-win7-nov19.exe
The download latest Intel drivers for GPU from Intel website
Install AMD drivers and then Intel drivers... You should have a switchable graphics option in your AMD catalyst control centre where you force the 8850M to work in games.. -
As I said, sadly I cannot force my amd gpu (not even thorugh BIOS). My notebook works in such way that my AMD gpu needs some Intel HD Graphics commands to work
Also, I tried to use those drivers. I got many errors and it didn't solve the problem (I believe 14.4 is the most recent one that actually works on my system. Again, it's because of many imcompatibilities between gpus. All notebooks of this models have this kind of problem (I might give dell a hug) -
Have you tried the leshcat drivers? When I had a HP Envy with the 7850m, they worked magic for me.
-
I tried to use it, but it didn't work. Unfortunately, my notebook model has some problems with windows 8.1 (I did not test on 8, but I think it works better), so that it only works with specific drivers (13.9 and 14.4+amd enduro fix+some cmd commands worked for me, leshcat didn't).
This situation also gave birth to a 15 page long forum thread: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/t/19542884?pi239031352=15
However, I never heard of shimmering textures problems being related to those incompatibilities
Also, thank you all for replying
