So I got a laptop for my sister with Intel i5 3337u and 8730m, for her studies and some gaming. Now the utility is rather vague for switching graphics and using the amd card for games, also I didn't notice any indication whether it actually uses the Intel or amd card. Don't even know if it just always uses amd card or not... My laptop has nvidia optimus, well it does fail quote often and stops switching etc. But I got a status indicator to check it really easily, I don't see anything like that for amd?

Also there's fairly little information online about how it works etc. At first thought it was a manual switch like it used to be with early nvidia cards that could switch between Intel and nvidia cards. Anyone have experience with these and could give me insight? Haven't had time to play with it properly but it seems lacking in options and information. Heck didn't even know amd had alternative to optimus as they seem completely gone from laptop game graphics wise... :(

But hey that laptop even if 720p 15.6" screen is a damn bargain for 310£ with 3 year warranty :)

Can't help with the question (sorry!) but where did you get that laptop? Seems like a great laptop for the money.

Hsonly on eBay. He had a few more with slightly different configurations and some older ones with 7670m(or maybe different configuration? I don't quite get older amd naming still but they seem pretty much same performance wise according to videocardbanchmark) I'm on phone at the moment so fingers crossed link works http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=351373426942&alt=web this seemed as best for me since I have some spare ram sticks I can add. It's 1x4gb too. Came as new other than 2 small smudges on the underside of it, on the glossy texture plastic. Really excellent.
