Satyrion, Download the anno demo here News: Anno 1404 Demo - GamersHell.com

Test it out and see what you think... ANNO has what is called a continuous mode so it is very replayable. I like it better than settlers myself. Setllers 6 was more of a campaign. The new settlers 7 has drm out the ying yang so I wouldnt even consider that offering.

    Good Luck, StevenX..

ps.. If you have a half priced books around you ANNO is 6 bucks...

drm is copy or pirate protection... steam will tell you if a game has an external drm. ANNO used a system called TAGES. If you buy a disc copy then the updates will remove the disc verification. If you download the steam version there are issues (see the steam forums). My advice is to get a disc copy if possible.

    Best Wishes, StevenX

I haven't played Anno for so much, but I like Settlers. Atmosphere is amazing, combined with interesting dialogues and fantastic graphics (lights on the little windows at night while snowing outside are something that's worth downloading a few hundreds of MB's).

im currently playing a fair amount of the settlers 7 and really enjoying it, the depth that you can go to in building your empire is staggering as well and that it has a nice tech tree and is helpful in letting you know if you are lacking resources with any of your workers, im not having any problems with the DRM which in this case means you must have a constant online connection to play even single player campaign.....one guy i played against the other day said "the settlers 7 reminded him of a updated version of Anno"
