Is anyone else really annoyed by the control panel that Nvidia is using now? Not only have they made some of the more advanced features impossible to access (e.g. Max Frames to Render Ahead), but it seems that a lot of things just don't even work. For instance, I uncheck "Show Tray Notification Icon", and it is gone... until I close the control panel. Also, "NVIDIA Control Panel" can no longer be removed from the desktop context menu. I don't understand why they're isn't an option for using the classic Display Properties control panel. I even ran Driver Cleaner because I just couldn't believe that it could be this irritating.

    Any thoughts?

Who decided that it was important to tell me that my card is not running in SLI every time that Windows starts? And then to suggest that I buy a second card so that it will?

Nope, you can revert to the old one if you like. (Under View -> Use Classic NVIDIA Control Panel)

And it's still in the BETA stages, not all of the features (For some reason) have been implemented into the new shell.

Also, what driver were you using? Using 91.28 here and the tray is not visible at any time and I have no desktop context menu.

I do not have this menu item. The closest I see to that is View -> Classic Navigation Pane, which displays a menu that vaguely resembles the classic control panel, but when clicked merely displays the new panels.

    I am using 91.31

You positive that isn't there? I'm going to upgrade my driver to check. (Didn't know there was another version)

Same here, apparently as of 91.31 they've axed the old CP all together. Which sucks, because I deeply loathe the new design. I also get the SLI message every time I turn on my computer - shameless product-pushing on nVidia's part. Appalling. This is a vital system driver, not adware. I don't want some BS message telling me to buy more stuff every time I turn on my computer - especially since I can't!

Yep, that is definitely not there.

    Maybe I'll try 91.28

It's good to see that I'm not crazy, lowlymarine. But it sucks that this is just the way it is.

Note to self, dont upgrade the desktops video drivers.

You can always run driver cleaner and then re-install the old drivers.

Upgraded to 91.32 and this happened:
    Talk about BETA :p

The only way I can access the CP is right clicking on the desktop and selecting the Display Panel (Was still able to choose the "old" control panel)

But considering that the Control Panel thing screwed up, I probably have to run Driver Cleaner...but I'm not bothered to ;)
