Hi guys. Been enjoying my new machine listed in my sig, but having a few issues with gaming.

First thing is most noticable in NFS:MW.. I get great framerates, generally 35-45 fps but every 20-30 seconds or so, it kind of hitches or lags for just a second like it's loading from the harddrive..this happens in my other games too, but is most noticable in NFS:MW. I don't ever remember this happening with my old dv8000t with Go 7400 in it or on my Compaq with x700. I'm using the exact same harddrives I had in my old dv8000t because I swapped them.. so I don't see how they could be the issue.

Second thing is, in COD2 and Hitman:Blood Money, my fps seems to be capped at 30 for some reason. I have vsync on in both games, but my lcd's refresh rate is 60 so shouldn't my fps be capped at that? Many places in Hitman my fps hangs at exactly 30 for extended (4-5 minutes) at a time.. and I'll even stop and stare at a wall and I can tell it could easily go higher, but appears capped out.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer,

I know this issue, and have experienced it before. Check out this thread, I believe it was discussed in more detail:

As for the VSync issue - check in your graphics card's control panel and see if it is enabled by default. Some games are capped at a certain FPS by default, so you also might want to look into that. I know that CoD2 is not capped, so there is a setting somewhere that should fix your problem.
