I'm having trouble with the Penumbra: Black Plague demo, I cant really explain it but I've got a few screenshots that I can explain, hopefully someone else has played it...
In this pic, the text has glitched completely, this is the opening of the game:

As you can see from this one, the light of the glowstick messed, along with the objects in the darkness:

And finally, the hand has the same glitch, along with the lights and also the bloodstain on the floor in the distance:

EDIT: Oh, and I've got the 174.31 drivers
EDIT EDIT: Also, I've found that in device manager and under Display adapters there's this thing called OmniCom Mirror Driver, I dont remember installing it but it's got a yellow altert triangle on the icon

*cough* bump *cough*
I found that it also does a similar thing on Frets on Fire.
When chosing which song to play each cassette's a bit wierd as well -
seems like a glitch in the demo itself
theres supposedly a patch for the full game.
Edit: common problem...

I got that sort of issue on other games, such as Max Payne and Quake 4, when changing my video drivers.
I had to reinstal the games, apply the latest patches and sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn`t... -
Well I downloaded and installed it and it was buggy, so I completely uninstalled it and re-downloaded and re-installed it and its got the same problem.
Could it be the fact that I've got an integrated card and might need to change some of the coding? -
Still no joy, has anyone else had a similar problem and overcome it, on any game... please?
-
Anybody???
-
Am I doing something wrong here, no-one seems to be acknowledging my problem.
Does any know what the OmniCom Mirror Driver is at least? -
Another bump for yet another day where no-one has posted much help,
I'll leave it for dead unless anyone posts tommorow somewhen. -
ok, that's it... can't hold it anymore... lol.. poor guy...
anyways... to me (at least from the screenshots), these "glitches" are really just bunch artifacts, like distorted images, textures, dots, etc...
which usually caused by overheating (if overclocked the GPU), or simply by graphics driver.
since it's an integrated card, doubt it you actually have done anything fancy with it. So, just try a different video driver. As for the OmniCom Mirror Driver... I have no idea...
anyways, this driver is for Vista 32-bit
go to this site:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16152
click on "Driver" and "Modded INF" to download both.
(the Modded INF should be saved as text file with .inf extension, i.e. "nv_disp.inf")
create a folder, name it whatever you want, put the "Driver" file in it, then right-click it, and extract it.
(if you don't see "Extract" option from the context menu, then you need to install WinRAR or 7zip)
once finished, navigate to the folder with all the contents that you just extracted, drop the "nv_disp.inf" file you just downloaded into the folder and confirm on "replace" it.
then double click on "setup" to begin installing driver, after it's finished, restart the computer. (at this point, you can delete the folder, driver, .inf files)
now, try it out, reconfigure the game graphics option, and see. -
Cheers I'll try it, never really had much luck when changing graphics drivers but I suppose I'll have to give it another go.
BSOD here I come. -
Yeah, it all worked out after yet another BSOD, all textures are back to the norm.
Thanks very much +1 -
wow... that was fast... anyways, glad it worked out
Annoying glitch
