Now this really has me confused. As of yesterday, in game i started to lag. I would be fine for a few seconds, but then i would lag for a second or 2, and it brings me back to where i was a second ago. When i lag, it also re shows all the weapons i have. Im thinking a connection issue, but...
I've set all my rates to what is suggested. I have reformatted and when i installed CS again, i had the same issue.
I read on steam forums that this could be due to Windows Wireless Zero Configuration. This lag is off and on. And its almost like it's the same intervals between lag. Im perfectly fine, then a few seconds later, i stop for a second, and move back to where i was a few seconds ago. It's about every 15-25 seconds or so.
So now i uninstalled Steam and CS and im downloading it directly from Valve.
I've tried playing wired to my modem, and its barely better. I even talked to my ISP and they said everything was fine. I have 8mbps of speed down, but i have noticed my internet has been a bit slower since yesterday. I tested it, and it was over 6 mbps, which is still good.
Someone please help me..
Any ideas?

I assume you already reset your connection?

Yeah, im sure i have. I've powercycled all my equipment, and have renewed my IP address as well. Im pretty confident this is a connection issue, but i don't even have a clue as to what it could be.
My choke also goes up when i connect, but then drops. This never happened before, it started right when i had this issue. But my rate and cl_cmdrate are all where they should be at. -
I think i know what it is..
I talked with my ISP, and they did a few tests. Turns out there are packet losses. Hope it just goes away...Otherwise a tech needs to come out, and the earliest is Friday.. -
FYI, I was having a similar problem while playing Halo PC and DOD:S. My in-game ping never got above 35 yet I would teleport around from time to time. In DOD:S, I would sometimes just freeze in place. I assumed it was my wi-fi at first, but connecting via cable didn't solve it. I was then able to associate the lag with my HDD light. It turned out that DisKeeper was running in the background even though I had it set up to NOT run when the system is in use. The problem persisted - although at a lesser rate - so I deactivated everything but the bare essential anti-virus functions of my AvastAV and it solved everything. I haven't had an issue since. If you have the XP UI Powertoy installed from Microsoft or you know your way around the registry, you can also deactivate the "Optimize Hard Disk When Idle" function, given that it can come on when you're doing things.
If you haven't already, it wouldn't hurt to browse your Services panel and deactivate some stuff... It may also have something to do with your CPU or GPU throttling. If all else fails, you might consider getting another GB of RAM. A system as sweet as yours deserves it!
Another Counter Strike Problem - Lag every few seconds
