Dispatch of Army.
Free to play. Same requirements as War Rock - 800Mhz, 128Mb Ram, Geforce 2. Graphics are not quite as good, very outdated looking. But for free, worth a try.

Ooh, I should try both of those at some point! Is America's Army kinda realistic like Ghost Recon? I always thought Ghost Recon was really atmospheric.

Americas Army is like real life, it was made by the US army so they made it as real as a game can be made. Like if you get shot in the leg, you cant run, and kinda hobble. Medics dont heal. If you get shot you bleed, and if you bleed for a while you die, medics can only stop your bleeding, and there is no reviving. Once your dead, your dead for the rest of the round, no re-spawn. Its still fun though, just because you get so into it concentration wise, because you really dont want to die and wait for the 10 minute round to end.

Sounds cool, recon it'd run ok on an x200m?
-
I used to play it on a Geforce 4, so yeah you'll be fine.

Although spawn killers kind of ruin it. I used to play it on a competition basis, and would only consider playing clan matches now, where they don't fire grenades into the enemy's spawn zone at the beginning of each round.
Got a funny spawn story though, from OFP. Started a 40 player coop (a few aussie clans got together to bash some AI) we start off on an island, have to chopper over to our AO. One pilot "lags" (excuse) and crashes his packed blackhawk into a tree. It's only then that the mission maker lets it be known that there is no respawn on this map.
After a lot of whinging, the dead guys say grab us on MSN for the next mission...
We didn't speak to them until 1am, four hours after mission start. -
Hold on 1 minute, are there vehicles in AA now? Sorry, its been about 3 years since I played it, so I guess I shouldnt be too suprised. What kind of vehicles are there?

Sounds just like Ghost Recon! The thing I loved about the original GR was the atmosphere, it felt like you were really there, outside, squelching through the mud and grass, looking through the mist for the enemy. Top stuff, really exhilerating. Reminds me of patrols I did when I was in Army Cadets. Yeah that's right people you're talking to a sergeant! >>> lol! -
I hated my Cadet Sargeant. She was the biggest tid-wad ever. Made us do pushups and everything. My section leader was cool though, he usually got us out of the menial tasks (digging latrines and what not).

Americas Army is like too real for some.. I luv it though

i think its as good if not better than bf2... but bf2 is more fun for just kinda like runnin around and killing... i just suck at the classes and quizes and stuff you have to do on AA
-
God almighty you guys are the worst, even though there are already about 20 threads about Americas Army, you turn this one about a totally different game into another AA thread by about the third post!

Downloading America's Army (all 2.5Gb) at 600k/sec, might try it this afternoon if I don't go to my mate's house.
Edit: sorry, make that 800k/sec
Another free online FPS like War Rock
