this is about my anti aliasing, i have a Mobility 5650 1gb DDR3, 2 months old, on a Sony vaio E series (ea16fa)
after thorough investigation i found out that those white pixels are primarily a result of improper anti aliasing.
i installed unreal tournament 3, and set AA mode to MS, ingame there wasn't any change in aliasing, so i tried adaptive MS, but still there was no difference.
so i tried MS/ adaptive MS again with edge detect, still no difference.
so i got fed up and turn on SS, Edge detect with 8x AA, 16x AF and max Mipmap, only at this point i saw PROPER AA, but i was getting about 5 fps =.=.
and all the reflections were not rendered properly on texture edges
so my anti aliasing does work, but i have one of two options, wether to have Crappy AA and high fps, or nice AA with HORRIBLE HORRIBLE fps.
and all the reflections were not rendered properly on texture edges.
i have the latest Catalys (10.8), latest drivers for everything basicly, chipset, monitor, BIOS, Video Card.
so what's the catch here????
is there some sort of program i can run to make it act better?
P.S: Aliasing is also visible in flash games, Desktop Icons, Cursor, Letters..etc
i'm reporting this cuz i was getting high quality AA with 2x multisampling on my 3 yr old Nvidia geforce 9500m gs (that's the equivilant of mobility)

Umm, make sure that in your CCC that everything is set to performance, "let the application decide and that powerplay is on.
Let me know if that fixes it. -

do you have a screenshot of said white pixels?

and aside from the white dots......anti aliasing is not as good as the nvidia was.
to clear it up, 4xMSAA with Nvidia 9500m gs = 4x SSAA with my Mobility 5650, with the drawback that supersampling takes hella lot of processing.
so while i could get 60 fps with 4xMSAA on my nvidia card, i get only 30 or less fps with 2~4x SSAA on my Mobility 5650.........this is not normal, as the 5650 is at least 3 times better than the 9500m gs.
whats the catch??
and i'm not just talking about guild wars or unreal tournament....i'm talking about crysis, far cry 2, world of warcraft, spore, COD:MW and MW2.
something is really messed up, i don't know wether its a hardware problem or a driver problem or DX11 problem anymore.......my mom and brother have HP's with ATI cards, and they have the same white pixels and aliasing.....even though they have different ati card and ati drivers than mine.
i'm up to date with all my drivers btw. -
you could try installing Ati Tray Tools, tweaks->advanced tweaks-> new AA methods.. ->disable adaptive antialiasing

If you're having problems in really older games, then there is a problem. -
do white pixels appear only when you turn on AA with HDR/bloom/postprocessing?
-
because anti aliasing doesn't work properly, when you look at a reflective texture that did not get anti aliased, you will see the reflected light jagged, and this is most noticable on the edges of an object, so they will seem like white pixels, while infact it is simply the reflected light + the color of the texture of the object mushed together in an aliased line. (hard to explain, but you'll get the point eventually)
also when you look at a detailed wall you will notice these pseudo white pixels, and this creates sort of like "Magnetic Field" effect, which does not go away when you move.
P.S: in guild wars, when i turn shaders off the white pixels disappear.
