Does anyone who reads this post play American's Army 3?

I played a little AA2 about a year ago, I'm thinking about trying out AA3.

    Any fans here?

The game is not that good graphics wise but gameplay is realistic. And not to forget, its free. I am not a fan but I play it sometimes.

The game for me ran a lot better after that first month of patching or so.

If you liked AA2, then you will probably enjoy AA3. Graphics aren't great... but they are better than AA2. Gameplay is pretty solid though if you have a good connection.

I'd say it's certainly worth trying out.

I tried it when it first came out, but didn't stay because my computer couldn't handle it. My friend's (high-end) computer ran it fine, and the graphics are pretty good for a free game. It got off to a bad start though, so not many people stayed with it, only about 400 people on right at this moment.

I played AA2 for a long time and absolutely loved it, and was excited for AA3, but it didn't really meet my expectations. It had high potential, but the DEVs were rushed in making it, and with a lack of time and money, it wasn't fully ready on release date, so some features are lacking. And then when they fired most of the DEV team the day after it was released, it kind of sealed the game's fate. Last I heard they were still only running on a handful of DEVs, so while they are still patching it, don't expect too much to really change. :(

Some people are still saying its an awesome game and to just give it time, where others are saying it's crap and dead. The fan base is really mixed. I'd say to download it if you liked the old 2.x game or if you're looking for an ok free game, but if you're looking for a really good FPS, you may be disappointed.

Quick question about the game, may be off topic, did anyone of you guys ever felt the need to to join the military when playing this game or felt very patriotic?

I ask because im doing a video piece about militarism and video games.

No. It raised my curiosity a bit, but I got the game knowing it was propaganda. I think it is an effective and clever tool though.
