So I know that there's not much info yet on how well either of these IGPs run, but I have recently come across these two laptops at retail that really aren't much different, save for price.

And just for giggles, a Gateway with ATI Radeon Xpress x1270

The Acer has the 7000M and costs $600, the HP has the 7150M and costs $700.

On the Nvidia tech specs page, the differences are very vague and confusing to me... the core clock speed difference is straightforward in favor of the 7150, but then the 7000 has 1x16 in the PCI-E category, which I'm assuming would improve performance? I don't know, I can't make left and right of this stuff.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That refers to the chipsets ability to accommodate a PCIx16 slot which is basically used for graphics cards - a non issue for laptops with integrated GPU's. Nothing to do with performance, the 7000M lacks hardware support for MPEG2 1080i H.264 720p decoding and runs at a slightly lower clock frequency.

BTW unless you are only considering retail outlets I would suggest looking up this Acer@newegg as well...
