Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising was released in 2004 with support for up to 150-Players on massive maps.

Since then no other game massive FPS game has been released, besides ARMA which is not fun to play at all, hopefully ArmA 2 will be different.

So besides ArmA, are there any MMOFPS's to be released soon?

Ahh, joint ops was a sweet game. But it was annoying to run a kilometer of map just to get killed by getting shot twice in the leg.

    Operation Flashpoint and its expansions
Operation Flashpoint 2 : not yet released, looks cool.

    ArmA Combat Operations
ArmA 2 : not yet released

I never tried ArmA, heard its pretty demanding on the system. Does it look good for those that have played it, since the screenshots look aged

I enjoyed Joint Ops as well. Great fun. I also liked the fact that when you went to join a server it would put you in a queue and say how many people in front of you were waiting (yes, that's saying the same thing twice I think).

Anyhow, it also had a lot more voice commands than BF2, you could use a knife and fight underwater, and snipers were actually effective, both in hiding and with their scopes.

While I enjoy BF2 immensely I still think Joint Ops is better exectued.

Agreed, the game was so much more open than any other game.

For example once I hid in the bushes by the enemy's transport helicopter base and when everyone got in it I knifed everyone except the pilot and hijacked the heli. :D

You had a compliment of boats, APC's and attack helicopters, most of the time people had decent teamwork going on and it was just great fun most of the time.

And one of the few FPS's where the snipers actually were able to use their gillie suits to their advantage as well as having to adjust there scopes depending on the target distance.

And of course the close quarter battles in Kutu Arm's Market! **** Joint Ops was just fun.
