Im stuck in summer school and I can't look up stuff about Wrath of Lich King, basically all I know is that the new expansion pack will include Northrend and a new hero class the Death Knight. If anyone could elaberate more on the Expansion Pack (new perks, release date etc.) I'd be very grateful.

They would tell you but they are all stuck in a coma and have not seen any real people in years.

J/K I was unaware that there is a new expansion. I play now and then just for a quick fix on a private server but I would never in a million years go back to retail.

Its nice to log on and melt face once in awhile just to get that wow pvp fix. These days other games have taken priority tho. Currently playing Mass Effect, and I just got done with Crysis, CoD4, and I still have to be UT3. Thats because my new desktop plays anything and everything so I am digging into the new graphically intense games.

X-WoW player here as of last month my subscription has been cancelled. As for WotLK it will have the DK, northrend and many many new game mechanics as well as class specific mechanics. Alot of my pre BC buddies are going to try WotLK so I may be back for it, but signs point to no for a full come back.

Sorry.. but I'm sick of hearing these "WoW will steal your life; WoW will make you have no social life" stuff.... People just keep your negative comments to yourself, they have absolutely nothing to do with the question at hand..

Yeah I agree with stirfried. I have played for well over 2 years and it has almost destroyed my marriage. The game can be volatile to people who get involved too much. Heck I was an officer of a non hardcore raiding guild and I was required to be on every day and for quite a few hours. Felt more like a job then a game...

    wowfusion - donor rogue :)
...and a bunch of other 70's

And i used to play retail pre-BC. Had 3 60's, but played my rogue the most. Was at rank 12, raided too much, blah blah. The game really does start feeling like a job once you hit end game. Too much raiding for nothing :( Playing on a private server is fun though :D

So, how come you're allowed on a computer at all, if you're at summer school? I mean, aren't you supposed to be learning, or something?

I'm not addicted to WOW, I only log 8-14 hours a day, SHEEZ! :)

But yeah I am looking forward to the expansion. Though it is oncourse to come out same time as Left 4 Dead so we shall see which will earn the majority of my time.

Yeah there are 51 point talents now vs 41 point talents, and I believe the lvl 55 thing is set in stone.

Yeah pre BC I was forced into a spec I didnt wanna play to raid for basically nothing and now since epic is no longer epic (my druid had 3 epic pve sets one for each spec and 3 epic pvp sets for all specs within a month of dinging 70). Im thinking Ill buy the expansion and a game card and my pre BC friends will try it out for a month to see if we stay there or go back to orange box/steam.

Yeah, I really hated raiding, seeing something I want drop and then roll against 5 people who roll a 90+ and I roll a 4. Made me die inside everytime it happened, which was a lot.

I spent 20% of my time back in original retail getting from lvl 1-60 and then the other 80% in Molten Core trying to get T1 rolling against 10 people. After a month and only holding 2 pieces of armor... it was a big wake up call.

Then if I had donated my life to the game and then put a lone against my next one and got full T1, I would have had to /wrist when an expansion came out that made green items better than my epics.

Since I play on a private server now I can see all the T2/T3/T4/T5/T6 and its just sick I would never want to try to get that stuff in retail.

Dont even get me started on battlegrounds and how that ruined the game for me.

Best MMORPG for me has been PSO (phantasy star online) and to a lesser extent the newer PSU. Because they have a great social atmosphere and it was pick up and play. You can jump into a game and play for 30 min or 30 hours your call with no benifit going to the guy who has a whole day to play. The longest trip would be a full run Forest 2 Falz we called it and that can be done in like 4 or 5 hours. Also it was connected to japanese gamers and they were alot of fun to play with and one of the few places I could keep my japanese skills sharp. Cosntant free downloadable content updates and just a fun game all around.

I tried guildwars but could not get into it, I played FFXI for quite awhile and think I like it more than WoW in many ways but again being an early adopter it was harsh with the unbalanced classes. All that work to max out a dragoon & dark knight and you have to sit in Jeuno for 6 hours looking for a party and not until your the last living organism available would a group pick you up. Plus that game is hard to play casual as death = xp loss, plus lets not get into rare monster camping and how that stole many hours of sleep away from me....

My lesson learned is to just stay away from MMORPG's thats why despite my new rig I have not tried Age of Conan to see what it looks like all maxed out, if I had no wife and no kids maybe I could venture deeper into one of those games and it can offer you a avenue of entertainment that is safe and wont cost you alot of money as compared to others that go out and do things... but oh well back on topic.

I had full t.5 and 6/6 pvp epic and when TBC came out lvl 58 greens were ALOT better then my epics from days and days of actual game time raiding and pvping. BGs were actually OK preTBC, but now with resilence everything has changed. Now that cloth wearing player can easily take several swings from your huge epic 2h weapon and just laugh while he then kites you around and destroys you. There is a reason I cancelled my subscription last month and plan to stay away...

One of my worst regrets was getting my beautiful, wonderful, and intelligent girlfriend addicted to World of Warcraft a few months before Burning Crusade came out.

I stopped before BC, with my mid-range non epic level 60 Warlock.

Now she has 3 level 70s and over 6 characters post level 45 on 3 different servers.

*sobs* I feel like I should be punished for robbing the real world of such an amazing woman.

I did similar when I used to play PSO too much it caused issues for my very outgoing X because she looked at me like a total dork and it also kept us from doing things sometimes.

So I thought hey the solution is to get her to play, ended up getting her, her own gamecube & game copy and she got addicted. Soon after I relized she became so addicted no longer could I do anything with her, and we started not having laundry done, or dinner made. Then worse yet she had all the guys flirting with her all the time online and she would play along for items.

Oh well live and learn man lol.

WoW has been confirmed to make several thousands of full grown men and women lost there jobs, wife/husband, personality ect. Its so bad that the board of mental health or what ever actually created a new mental disorder and said that being addicted to online games is an actual mental disorder. I call BS on that one its just people that dont have enough willpower but what ever.

    Reply to Vicious:

Luckily she and I had to go our separate ways for awhile. But when we met up again many months later she seemed to have learned how to balance WoW and real life fairly well. It is also nice these days that she will go out with me even if it means she has to set aside a big raid. I think it might be due to the fact that every one of her characters is completely maxed out in almost every area and equipment set, but I like to think it is because she loves me.

It has also made it really hard to want to start playing again. Bear in mind my Warlock is still a pre-BC 60 dude, so the little I play makes me feel extremely inferior. She even has a custom designed UI setup, the likes of which I have never seen. I told her she should sell her designs they are so minimal and functional.

And even MORE amazing, she has risen to power using nothing more than a low-end Toshiba laptop outfitted with a GMA950. I really wish I had the money to get her a more decent system, but then I fear what the consequences might be. :-X
