This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Trying to play custom mods and maps and having problems, when I download mods they are zip files and I understand u need vpk files how do I get the vpk file, where is it located and what do I need to do to get what I need to play. Thanks

    You have to extract the files.

    A ZIP file is like a folder. You can open it up and extract the files within, which presumably include the VPK you're looking for.
