I have only been able to find desktop reviews of this integrated graphics solution and I do not know how well it fairs on notebooks. Anyone has any solid information?

I'm still considdering buying a notebook as all the notebooks I get excited about become unavailable before I decide to buy them. But now there is a new one A6M that has only been available since July so it should be available for a few more months. It has the 6100 though and I want to know how well that works before deciding.

Nvidia 6100 sounds like an old GPU, which I have never heard of. I know of a 6200. There is a "dummy guide" thread (actually two) on the capabilities of various notebook GPUs, both integrated and dedicated.

Thanks for the reply but the guides here don't have anything specific to mention.

The 6100 is an integrated GPU solution from NVIDIA. It is said to be on par with the X200 but I have not been able to find any head to heads or benchmarks of its performance in specific games.

The 6150 and X200 are suppose to be the same performance wise but the x200 IS slightly more powerful as has been seen in gaming tests..

If you're thinking about doing any sort of serious gaming for more than a year then you really should be looking at a 7400/x1400 level card to avoid disappointment. You can probably get away with playing most modern games at low settings with the 6100 but don't expect to continue doing so for any notable period of time. Even casual gamers will see a big benefit in going with a low end dedicated part.

It's good for older titles like Call of Duty, Quake III, Enemy territory etc.

It'll suffice for even newish RTS games.

Its poor at modern FPS titles - low settings, low res.
