Just some time-wasters or classics.

deus ex. THE best fps/rpg hybrid ever, well maybe on par with system shock series.
should be able to run okay. -
Any idea how Half-Life would run?
-
The original Half Life should run perfectly fine. Half Life 2 would struggle, if it runs at all.
-
Any other classics I should pick up?
-
Diablo and Starcraft. maybe older CoD and MoH games. also Halo 1 and AvP series.
-
I to have an aspire one and have been wondring about this. The problem is playing without a CD. are there Any guides on how to install so that a cd is not needed to play after installation?

it's borderline legal. since you own the game. -
The first two thief games should run pretty well as should the original Unreal Tournament and Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Dont forget Counter Strike 1.6
Not sure but even World of Warcraft should run on it. -
So far I have:
Starcraft (and Brood War)
Alien Trilogy
Aliens vs Predator
Aliens vs Predator 2 (and Primal Hunt)
Fallout
Fallout 2

Everything runs great on my EEE 1000H wich is the same thing, I did hear they clocked the graphics slightly higher in the EEE tho so maybe in some of the stuff that pushes the edge for me wont run for you and thats a very very few n64 games and a few playstation games. -
Age of Empire 2 + expansions, Red Alert.
Depending on the GPU you should be able to play Dawn of War: Dark Crusade and previous ones. -

It may be your emulator your using or the settings, I did not bring my EEE to work tonight so tomorrow I will try.
Posting that little list has prompted me to make a spreadsheet of every one of my fav games on the old systems so I can start my own little "masters collection" of game roms.
Sadly there is like a million games I never played tho that may be good but I hate having those generic billion file roms so its hard to find the games I want to play, and for the sake of being legit I only want the ones I actually own/owned. I had a very large game collection as a kid and alot of my stuff magically vanished over the years. Both of my FF3 games that I knew where they were seemed to have gone missing some time not too long ago too.
I definitely have to work on my list and then post it at some point to share it and then have others post there fav games to add to the list. -
Nice Emu list Vicious. I play some of those when I'm bored. Paper Mario for the 64 is pretty fun. I'm at 5/8 star spirits or whatever. xD
Anyway, I know that older "mmo's" will run on that probably.... like Maplestory. But you would have to deal with the kids who play. .-.
I second most of Vicious' list though, they are excellent and should run fine (I got the 64 games to .... mostly work on my old Dell... with a very old integrated... solution) -

Not sure about aspire one but we also have some overclocking solutions for the 1000H Most people can get to or close to 2ghz no problems so if your right on edge of a game playing good it may help.
Paper Mario is goodI beat the Game Cube versions of it (own them all on the cube) and also it was the 2nd game I got for my Wii because both me and the wife like those games. I dont think she ever beat it tho. I'll have to remind her.
I do not think I ever played the original on N64 tho, I gave my N64 to a friend when I left for the Marines tho. I miss it to as I never beat the Masters version of Zelda, and Golden Eye was one of the games that me and my little brother played all the time as kids. -
Yeah, I have only played this version. I had a gamecube, but then it kind of got lost when moving and stuff. It's a long story. I only had like, Animal Crossing for it though. xD The stupid Paper Mario thing I'm using glitches a lot though.... it's annoying.
I do like a lot of the classic games, they are still good to waste time with when you are sitting around and doing nothing. -

Exactly, and if your netbook is one of your appendages like it is for me (I take it to dinner, doctor, friends house, work, ect) You will find the opportunity often to kill some time and revisit some of our childhood classics.
-
go have some fun with diablo 2, the max res for the game is 800x600 anyways, so small screen is fine. plus diablo 2 is just too classic. if you havnt done so, it will take a good 1/2 year of your life if not more

I actually just got D2 not that long ago because a site was selling keys for like $2 or something crazy like that, then you go to bilizzards site and enter you key and you can digitally download the game.
Any older games that would work on my Acer Aspire One?
