School's over during the holidays, so i need a single player game wich will blast me up, something wich would stop me sleeping in the nights, a good story rpg or something, maybe some shooters, etc, all i know is that i want it to be long and and very captivating, some eye candy would also be apreciated, i can run everything.

Fallout 3 with all the DLCs, which are included in the "Game of the Year" edition.

Also Bioshock, & Grand Theft Auto IV if you haven't played those.

Dragon Age: Origins if you're planning for a long game.

Company of Heroes with it's expansions if you like RTS and would love to finish all the campaigns (all 6 of them)

And what the other guys mentioned =D Batman Arkham Asylum's good too if you like action and Modern Warfare 2 though short, is still epic that you'll want to know everything in a single playthrough.

Oblivion is an awesome RPG that'll keep you busy for a while, especially with the expansion packs. And then when you're done with that, there's a bunch of awesome mods out there for it as well.

The Half-Life series will take quite a bit of your time too. The original Half-Life will probably take you several days, and then throw in its expansion packs and sequel, Half-Life 2, and the Half-Life 2 episodic expansions.

Doom 3 is another good one that's pretty long.

single player is not anywhere near as good as picking up a girl to play games with at night :p

what about splinter cell series, or serious sam, i always enjoyed max payne, these are older games, but great stories IMO (serious sam is a good laugh).

the various GTA's are also fun, with the mini games and challenges in them.

Girl gamer sightings are about as rare as unicorns. I don't even know if I want to date a gamer. I'd rather her pry me away and you know do things that video games here don't allow you do to.

i bought fallout 3 and every expansion on 360 and it was worth every cent. the new all-in-one is a no-brainer. i scoured every corner and found every item and it was great fun.

i married a girl gamer. i got my wife started on EQ back when we first met and we both played WoW for over 2 years together.

Modern Warfare 2 (Don't forget, you can play and beat the Spec-Op alone) and Borderlands (it's just silly, "Nine Toes...and he has three balls").

A few people mentioned it already, but Borderlands is a good bet. Don't expect Dragon Age kinda graphics. It's got its own unique graphics if you know what I mean.

Left 4 Dead 2 can be done single play but it's not just the same than with a couple of buddies.

Freelancer can also take its fair share of time and after completing the game you can explore and go crazy. Try and get the expansion pack for it and the difficulty levels will be more realistic and much tougher! :D

If you have a rig that can handle it then I recommend GTA IV. I also recommend the Police Pursuit Mods and there are other mods that add many random and different missions to the game. Due to the mods, the replayability is really good. It can be a lot of fun just playing as the LCPD doing arrests, police shootouts and chases or simply doing Taxi missions or random drug dealing that occasionally goes wrong. Check the thread in my sig for some good ones.

burnout is fun if you wanna unlock everything, but it lacks variaction, I got bored of doing same events.
Also call of duty games singleplayer is a good rent!
But id still recommend playing multi on mw2, even if u cant stop u GOTTA try it!

Oblivion. You will become obsessed with it and want to live and breathe the world 24/7. If you're playing it for the first time it will take you about a day to "get it".

I agree with Oblivion. Older game, but still great. I never cared for those types of games, but picked it up because of all the hype and was very satisfied. I put in a good 40 hours or so and never finished the story, but 40 hours for $30 for the GOTY edition is well worth it.

RPG - Dragon Age or Mass Effect (Fantasy or Sci-Fi, pick your style)
    RTS - Empire Total War
    FPS - Borderlands

Any of those should keep you occupied for some time. :)
