It would help us to give you better recommendations if you say what kind of games you prefer.
I would suggest Call of Duty 4, fantastic and very dynamic game that will run pretty well on your laptop on medium settings. There is no need to play previous versions, but you can if you like (Call of Duty 2 for example, just to get a routine in game).
Also consider Max Payne series, third person shooter with very deep and sad story, but awesome. However, you should play this game in order, first Max Payne 1, then Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, since the story is connected (continued). -
World of Warcraft + it's expansions... Very addictive...
Warcraft 3 + it's expansions... Community is small but it is also addictive! -
thanks for ur suggestions..
does cod4 have a proper storyline or is similar to something like UT.. ive played a bit of ut multiplayer.. i would like play a good single player game..
also, i really dont wanna play online.. so does that rule out warcraft? -
Well, CoD4 has a story, although it is not very deep (and doesn't need to be), but answer is yes, there is storyline in CoD4, similar to todays world and wars across it.
Warcraft 3 has a single player campaing, as well as multiplayer. The reason why multiplayer is more popular is because WC is released a long time ago, so single player is not interesting anymore to WC fans. Just keep in mind that Warcraft is not the same thing as World of Warcraft. -
Splinter Cell series!
-
Splinter Cell series
Call of Duty series
Half Life series
In those series all the games are great, the old and the new and the good part about old games is that they are cheap
-
Call of Duty 3 was bad, but lucky for us, it never came to PC!

Orange box nuff said
3 games for the price of one. Half Life 2(you do not need 1) with episode 1 and 2 are my favorite so far. Team Fortrass is fun multi-player game and portal is good two. Plays well on the 8400gs too.

Orange box is a great buy

Well ya I meant on PC ... those versions for PS2 and original Xbox flat out sucked! I didn't mind Call of Duty 3 on my 360 though. I wish the new Call of Duty's had vehicles like Call of Duty: United Offensive ... that was by far my favorite for multiplayer.
-
Did COD: United Offensive offer vehicles in multiplayer?
Because that's what I loved about BF2. -
Orange Box

Ya ... United Offensive had multiplayer vehicles. Not a huge variety because it's WWII but I mean it has Heavy Tanks, Tanks, and Jeeps. The maps are also huge, way bigger than maps on the other Call of Duty games. I really liked it and that was probably the game that I spent the most time on ever. Sorry, no planes though, it's all ground combat.

I am waiting for the next thing from Battlefield. Not what's coming for the consoles nor the goofy BF Heroes, but their next serious installment.
-
That was quite random.
-
The new CoD does have vehicles, along with Co-op, and more.

Call of Duty 5... I did not expect a announcement so fast..
-
I was announced about 3 months ago, I believe. Treyarch has been working on it for some time. Using the CoD4 engine, so it should be good!
And Co-op... oh co-op... -
lol i dont think using the cod4 engine is that good of a idea, since the requirements for cod4 is pretty damn high. Most people without good Graphics cards will be pissed.
-
Well, it's a great idea to me. You can't be a PC gamer and not expect for games to become more demanding. If that's what you want, buy a console.
-
Consoles are more reliable because there is no such thing as lag in console or you do not have the system requirements.
-
Actually the COD4 is not that of a demanding engine and yet offers one of the best visuals. There are some lower spec PCs that can still run the game.
By lag do you mean frames per second?
What I miss about multiplayer in BF2 is vehicles. My favorite thing to do in BF2 on PC was the following: choose a class with C4, put a pack on a helicopter, get in as the pilot, wait for someone else to board on, take it up in the air, jump out and parachute, take out the detonator and BOOM! Got kicked off from so many games for that....lol. Muahaha!!! -
no, im saying that consoles doesnt have the Minimum Requirements problem
Any suggestions?
