Thanks, I've looked at that thread but was specifically looking for vostro 1500's owners that had any more to add.

EDIT: I do have Vostro 1500, the sig, don't mind it. hehe

Cool dragon I'd appreciate it - couple games I play and was wondering would be able to run well are cod 4, cs:s, and tf2 along with some bf 2. Any info or pics would be appreciated!

The only game I have with me that you mentioned is TF2, here are some screenshots. The SS are taken with Fraps and the game is running in Windowed mode so the quality is not very good, but at 1280 x 1024 with 2x AA and 4x AF the game look very nice on my 17 in LCD.

EDIT: Frap is giving trouble will post more SS after I get it fix, but basically everytime I press the key to take the picture the game crashes.

Good stuff - I was just curious how that card ran some games b/c I currently have an older 6800gt for my desktop and was hoping that a 1500 with a 8600m gt was a slight upgrade.

Not slight, more than slight. You'll definitely see a huge bump in performance. I'm running COD4 on all max, with 2x AA and it's running great. Mind you, I'm only running at 1280x800, but the 8600M GT is definitely a stout card.

Thats great to hear, my desktop was put together a few years ago ..p4 3.2 1 gig or ram and like i said a 6800gt - so hearing that a vostro 1500 with a 8600m gt is a worthwhile upgrade is great news.

It is fun! In fact, it is the game that ended my 4 years of Counter strike streak. Now I am addicted on to TF2 instead of CS. :D
