If it gets a proper PC release, then I'll like it. For right now, Ubisoft's publishing tag makes me avoid like plague.

Oh The Division, please god, prevent Ubi from messing this one up... I can live with The Crew failure, but The Division...
-
Yeah well we already know The Division has been visually downgraded a la Watch Dogs, so there's that.

Many other sites have since reported on it; it falls in line with Watch Dogs' outcome and what they've done with Far Cry 3 as well. -
RAGEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! I am devoting my life to ruin Ubi's plans from now on!

Listen, let me explain. Ubisoft is making REALLY good looking games. Ubisoft has not optimized a single game for PC architecture (except apparently FC3's DX9 mode) in years. New consoles use mostly PC architecture. What does this mean? Problems! They're stuck with very weak hardware compared to current-gen PCs and want to make things compete graphically with the likes of battlefield in open world (mostly).
Let me put it this way. How would you feel if a BRAND new console came out and you upgraded from your 8 year old last-gen machine to this brand spanking shiny new thing that ran you anywhere from $400 to $1000 to get as comfortably working as your last-gen machine was (controllers, headsets, adapters, maybe a new TV for all those 1080p 60fps games hype, which WAS what happened; go look back at E3 2013 videos and tell me it didn't) and you plop down to play this brand new game that you've been waiting for and... it looks... okay. It's 1080p, sure. It's 60fps and that's smooth and nice, but... it barely looks better than your last console! But the game on your last console looks even worse! This can't be right! You didn't see this at the pre-release shows and footage!
OH. Wait. Your brand new hardware is actually weaker than something people could have bought 4 years ago. Okay. So you go look at what PC gets... and PC LOOKS EVEN BETTER THAN THE E3 TRAILERS! THIS GUY'S GOT TWO GTX TITAN BLACKS AND HE'S PLAYING THIS AT 60FPS 1440p IN 3D VISION AND HNGGG siodhsiohfnjdsanufj *froths at mouth*... But hey! Does this mean I just spent money on junk that will never come close to looking like this? Yes? Wow that sucks... I feel awful, I'm telling everyone to buy a PC now, I didn't buy a new console to still be a generation gap behind! I thought this was next gen!
Or the flip side: you get the nice graphics; looks in the ballpark of PC... let's say, you get a solid 30fps at 720p or 900p and the game's just missing some epic shadows and lighting effects, but everything else is mostly there... but oh, that 1080p tv has gone to waste! But these people said the consoles were better than the highest end PC on the market! Why is everything so blurry? The trailers don't make it look so blurry! Hey, that guy's PC footage doesn't look blurry! It looks really sharp and nice and I want my game to look like that! What? My console is too weak so they chose lower resolution and FPS to give me better visuals? So we haven't improved at all? Graphics got better but we're playing everything at 720p 30fps again? Wow this sucks... and I bought this on so much hype too! Why did you tell me all your games were going to be 1080p and 60fps with these kinds of graphics? Why didn't you make a stronger console? What? I would have to pay more for a stronger console? How much more? $900 per console? I CAN'T PAY THAT! I MIGHT AS WELL BUILD A PC!
Then people don't want to buy the undeniably visible "inferior copy" that the consoles get (and believe me, just go look at how people rag on multiplatform games that came out on the Wii during X360's era... that graphical generation gap is no joke) and thus the console sales falter. People buy less on consoles and more on PC, and PC needs more work to play right. Can't just make a bare port and let people toss a stronger graphics card at it; most of the console market is now buying these things on PC. If we mess up once or twice we're as good as done! People are going to be paying less and we're going to need to put in more work PLUS make for the consoles with dwindling sales due to the huge graphical generation gap? No that doesn't make any financial sense. Not for Sony, MS or us. Let's just hinder the PC platform and make it run bad. That way, if people think you need a $2000 PC to get $400 console graphics, even if the resolution is higher, that it'll be entirely not worth it.
^ Ubisoft's train of thought. And there's a lot of truth in it, believe me. -
^and that my friend, is why I hate "next gen" consoles with a passion and why console peasants will always be peasants to me.
-
Can't we all just get along?

^Well said, took my words right out of my mouth and more eloquently put too.
Yeah I don't have an issue with people buying a console for its own sake. It's when they try to "justify" something that really starts to grind my gears. -
If I were Valve I'd release a PC optimized game and stop them all in their tracks. A big dirty optimized nail in their coffin plus grow some business from some converts.
-
So Left 4 Dead 3, maybe? Show Capcom how a real zombie game is made? -
That would be my dream come true. L4D2 is my all time favorite by a long shot.
-
They should name it Left 4 Dead 4, f*** 3, it just ryhmes well

Yes, we definitely need new L4D! Old ones don't have micro-ransactions!

Oh no.. please.. not The Crew!

Surely I can't be the only one playing this game? For a Ubisoft title, this game is remarkably well done. I'm not saying it's perfect, but SLI works out the gate, no random stuttering, crashes, or game breaking bugs. And the existing bugs don't detract too much from the experience.
In any case this game has proven to be highly addicting! Never thought I'd enjoy a racing game so much. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
I was interested in it, though about getting the game when it would hit the sale, but now since I've learned it requires constant Internet connection I have lost all the interest. -

In any SP "Takedown" mission, the rubberbanding is so freaking frustrating and unrealistic, I've shelved it for a while. I lost so much hair with the one where you're trying to take down the police bus. I feel trapped like the worst corridor shooter game, the developers only make it possible to play the game their way.
-
lol yeah I feel ya. The main story missions are frustrating as hell, even more so when a level 48 Ferrari 458 just barely edges out some dinky level 25 car, and the game claims the mission was supposed to be "easy".
Which is why I've put the main campaign on hold and focusing on skill challenges for now. -
"SinglePlayer" Story mode is nearly impossible sometimes. Had to restart every event like 3-4 times in a row. The very second another player joins first try gold in every event... gave up on story and just cruisin' on the map in my Skyline.

Well, at least it's not me, it's the game

The Crew felt like impossible to play without a wheel, keyboard is insane, every corner you lose traction.. Gamepad is like you gotta develop muscle memory like playing a freakin piano... Wheel, I bought SRW S1, because I don't have a desk where I can fix a real wheel, and it is a bit annoying to hold it up all the time.. I kinda gave the game a break at the moment, but will return probably later on, around summer I suppose, though the game is a huge disappointment at best, cars seriously feel like they are lighter than a tennis ball...
-
Hardcore driving settings with keyboard is okay for me.
-
Hardcore is a must anyways, driving assistance in a racing game makes me feel like I am fighting against my computer
In perf spec cars it was real trouble not to lose traction at every corner for me (on keyboard)
-
They are patching up things! I get nearly double the fps now in compared to launch day.

I think for the best experience in racing and plane simulation games, you need to have a wheel and joystick respectively..Too bad I don't have space on my small table for either
-
You can set it to be fixed at 30 or 60. I played on fixed 30 but somehow when unplugged my monitor it changed the settings. Now it is set to 60 and run nearly at that fps. No vsync btw.

The most fun in MP is entering a lobby with a host dominate score, climbing that score to take over as host, then the original host quits.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, sore loser -
Hi!
I have to admit that this game disappointed me a little. I mean it is a fine game to play when you have some time (for example in the Christmas break) and I had some fun but I feel like this game was not designed for playing it on a PC. I mean it can be quite frustrating. Maybe it is because I don't own a wheel but besides I experienced some bugs during playing. For me it is a 6/10..
-
Can you elaborate on what exactly is "frustrating" beside bugs?
-
What bugs? Floating cars or boats? Exploding guardrails? Pshychedelic teleportation?
Anybody excited about The Crew?
