I got the original and the Immortal Throne expansion for 20 bucks off d2d.com, and now it seems steam has it for 20 bucks as well.
This game is really underrated, amazing visuals, and great gameplay and loot.
Coming off of a long WoW term, this helps relieve the pain, anyways does anybody here play it?
I hope with the company closing the online still works....I haven't tried it yet.

I played the demo when it first came out, very Diablo 2 style.
-
Good if you got the system to run it.
-
Yep me and my gf play it. Her 8600M GT can run it smoothly at 1440x900 2xAA, with all of the details on high except shadows on medium.
It is a great game, though not that many people talk about it.
It is IMO the #1 Diablo 2 replacement, no one has done a better game since. -
Yea...I run the game on 1440x900, 2x aa, everythings on high as well. -
From what I have found though, the Immortal Throne expansion really improved performance for us. I believe it has something to do with their implementation of Triple Buffering, but this game would constantly skip/stutter even at a perfectly normal framerate. The expansion made things run smooth as butter though.
Oh, and 4GB of DDR2 + Vista x64 = Faster loading times than my desktop! And look at my sig for the difference in specs. I score 13k in 3DMark06, and have a 10k RPM Raptor and with the Dell 1720 (in sig) she is in and running into town to the merchants before me. -
Amazing game! Better than D2 IMHO. I love that you can send items back and forth between characters. And you get a ton of bag space!
Seriously underrated. And a great value. Though I stopped playing it because I got back into WoW.
Also, I did have issues playing it over Steam. I had to actually download DLL's because it was missing game specific ones (not system ones, but ones that should have been installed with the game). And the expansion took 6 tries to download a working version. I deleted it, and the files off teh HDD, and it would start the DL at 65% and stop cold at 70%. Finally got it to work after about a week. -
Wow, I had seen it around but I never gave it a second thought.
Looks like word of mouth really works, I'm going to buy this from Steam.
I must be in a buying mood, spring break and all. -

I bought this game last Spring and really enjoyed it, just had some performance issues with my gpu. Since I had the expansion pack installed I let a friend borrow the original game so they could try it out and they never gave it back. After seeing this thread I'm gonna see if I can track my copy down and install it on my new comp. And like everyone has said if you like Diablo this is the game to buy. It's basically an overhauled (graphics, inventory, etc) Diablo 2 and its really fun although I never really played it online.

Especially if you are into mythology...Greek, Egyptian, the Orient...there is a ton of high quality ancient ground to cover, and its a lot of fun.
-
I am still towards the end of the original TQ. It is alot of fun.
Plays fairly smooth on my Quadro 140m @ 22" 1680x1050
Someday I will get the time to finish it, and I heard the expansion is worth it. Notable stability/performance + tons of junk to do.
I was just happy it ran on my laptop -
But yea, they implemented lot's of new video options in the expansion, i'm currently playing that..because you basically start from the same area. -
I think it is partly to do with Vista 64 and partly due to the amount of RAM. The 1720 with 4GB/V64 loads games and levels faster than the 1520 with 2GB/XP32.

Good game, although it has a few issues. Item system is a bit flawed, multiplayer is overloaded with hackers, and some skills are way too good.
Anybody here play Titan Quest?
