No matter which res I put, the black headers at the top and bottom are huge. They take up like 1/3 of my screen, I don't think they were that big last night, anybody know possible problems?

There you go. Notice the black headers at the top and bottom are really big for some reason.

It looks like you have the aspect ratio setting wrong. If you are playing on a television widescreen it should be set to something like 16:9. If you are using a computer widescreen monitor than 16:10. If it is an old fashioned tv or monitor than 4:3.

If those options are not available, try messing with display options.

The game has no aspect ratio settings, you simply scroll through a long list of resolutions. You have to know your own aspect ratio resolution.

Is it possible that there is no 4:3 mode in this game and it simply letterboxes everything?

You know I think this game runs in 16:9 no matter what you set your resolution to... I have a 16:10 laptop and looked at a screenshot I took. It's letterboxed, when you remove the black bars I bet you can guess what resolution it is: 1280x720.

But when I'm playing I never notice black bars... it could be that screenshots don't take properly.

Oh, sorry thought you were talking about an HD-TV, anyway all the aspect ratio setting are changed through the TVs menu not the Laptops, maybe check your monitors menu settings.

I'm telling you, I think this game is locked into 16:9 and letterboxes you if your display doesn't fit. Forerunner's shots are letterboxed, my screenshot that I posted in the thread is letterboxed, etc.

I think you might be right, all my other games are fine. I remember 2 resolutions did fix it for me, i'll try it tonight and let you know which ones.

P.S. The game does look gorgeous and run great on an 8600m GT <3

    You can try 800 x 600 or 1024 x 765 which is a 4:3, my monitor res is only up to 1280 x 800, so I wasn't able to test out if the game support 1028 x 1024. Sorry.
