Im getting into it, I have always been a MMORPG fan but its hard to get into them with my limited time to play (and like narsnail said paying sucks but it sucks worse if you cant play often enough to justify it)
Im hoping that the pvp like nature of the game and the open public quests means that I can log on and play with a limited amount of time to no ill effect. WoW was a failure end game trying to do this as you need HOURS of time to do a raid on a end game dungeon.
I tried to pre-order the game from direct2drive on a whim and they turned down my transaction because I used my hotmail address, so I have not bothered to do it again with my work email since they should have said up front you cant use a free email rather than make me jump thru hoops to figure out why they declined my transaction and made me contact support.
Maybe its a sign I should fight the urge to be one of the first players (a problem for me since I am so competitive, starting first means being one of the highest level and most elite...) and let the game play out to see how good it is upon release as it looks like in many ways they may be releasing a game in beta like state with graphics issues, animation issues, pathing issues, poor music, ect ect.
Would be great if I could get into the upcomming open beta to feel for the game before I commit to buying it but right now I think the only way to get in is to pre-order the game so thats kind of pointless. -
To be honest I really don't want to get sucked into another MMORPG... (3yrs in FFXI, 6mth in WOW) but I do miss the community and friends. My friend starting telling me about Warhammer Online coming out, and i shrugged him off, but after watching the Cinematic Vid on the warhammer site, i'm sold lol.

The video for the game is not that great, the new WoW video was better for the newest expansion but the actual game content has my interest.
I just applied for Beta and hope I get in, I think I can fight off the urge to pre-order the game for now and see if the ship can sail once its on water rather than bording now and hoping for the best
A wise idea since I do not have money to burn and that means my wife and kids can spend more time with me before I vanish from this world.
I can see it now "Lost" signs posted up all over the block but instead of "lost dog" it will say "Lost Husband: Last seen somewhere in Warhammer Online" with my real life picture posted and a little section that says "may now look like" and has a pic of my game character. -
yeah lol, thats why i want to avoid mmo's, but i must admit they are fun. I'm the same way about max level and stats, and i seem to put more time into the game than i should, and thats tough with kids. Supposedly they are trying to improve how much you can accomplish in one sitting, but they all tend to say that.
Anyone else excited about Warhammer Online?
