No, I am in close beta :D and you should brought the CE if you really can't wait. Although with 8400m GS, you probably won't get in either. You need a x600 to be consider I think for CE close beta.

Erm, no you don't. I am currently running a 8400m GS in my notebook and enjoying the beta experience myself.

About how long did it take for them to reply to your application?

I got in with my old computer specs. I forgot to update.

That's with a 6800GT...As long as your gfx card can run the game then you'll get in.

BTW, WAR rocks!!!!!!!! God I can't wait for this game to go live.

I thought there was only the Closed beta and the CE Open Beta(sept 7th). What's the deal on the CE Close Beta?
On second thought maybe he is refering to the sept 7th Open beta which is guaranteed for CE preorders.

If you pre-ordered CE and entered the CE code on the warhammer account page...AND met the gaming requirements, you received an email with a closed (ce) beta pass. It's essentially all the old beta testers along with all the new closed CE better testers.

The deadline is over though, no way to get in until open beta. Which is a bummer because my wife just got her CE codes this weekend. Curse you ebay.

what I'm pissed about is that they cut 4 of the best looking classes.

    Still 20 classes left.

Seriously, that's a lot of classes. Most mmo's struggle to maintain balance on 8-12 classes.

From what I heard they haven't necessarily eliminated these classes, but rather cut them out of the initial release. They may just be added at a later date as additional content or an x-pac.

Well, just pre ordered it off D2D (EB Games I checked a couple days ago ran out of boxes, and I don't feel like hunting around :p Don't want that UFS deck either) and now it's just a waiting game. Glad D2D updated it so Canadians can get it. Tried yesterday and it was USA only.

No kidding. Star Wars Galaxies had something like 32 classes on launch.

I'd say a couple months. I bought my laptop in November of last year and it was a couple months before I heard anything. Then again, I'm pretty active in the MMO community and beta'd pretty much every MMO game that's come out since EQ. ;)

SWG also wasn't a very pvp centric game. That and half the classes were crafting/merchant professions.

What PVP SWG did have was so incredibly imbalanced it wasn't even funny.

That's the problem with having a wide variet of classes in pvp based mmo's. You end up with classes like warlocks/druids in WoW that completely demolish every other class in the game.

Thanks for clarifying on the CE close beta. I didn't preorder but got a CE key froma friend, guess I'll have to wait till Sept 7th.
Admittedly, I don't know much about WAR classes but from my experience with DAOC, alot of those classes are similar due in fact to having 3 factions, thus the classes are spread over the 3 factions. So even tho there might be say, 18 classes you only have access to 6. And tho they're all named differently, they each have their corresponding classes in the other factions. My guess is that's what they're doing here with WAR?
