As the title says, who else is pre-ordering it? This game looks slick as heck.

-
I'm going to wait for thorough player feedback and gameplay vids. Already took my blind chance for the year with Homefront. D2D had a tempting offer during the weekend though.
-
I was on the brink of pre ordering but decided to wait for more reviews.
-
I almost jumped on the pre-order from D2D when it was $45 (Steamworks title), but I really do need to wait and see the reviews first. I have too many titles on my plate this year and I will have to weed a few of them out.

I pre-ordered it @ $40 via 2 pack and it was $45 for pre-order for a single game copy.
Yet @ release you could get the PS3 & PC version combo for $35.00
Heck since I participated in the ARG contest and got all the potatoes I was given the valve complete pack, had I not already owned Portal 2 via pre-order I would have got it for free. -
I heard this game involves a lot of running.

*preordered brink back when it was $37.45 or so on D2D (no tax for florida)*
yeah..this'll be my homefront/whatever.
hope the game doesn't suck. -
Any idea on cheat control? Is it just vac?
-
I don't get the culture of pre-ordering something.
That's some blind faith you guys have there.
I'll wait for review and demo. -
-
Only game I will pre-order is Witcher II. After seeing how the devs backed up the first game, with enhanced edition..............you can't lose !

New video showing off the classes:
Brink - A Matter of Class Video - Xbox 360 - IGN
To me, this video more or less secures the notion of what I thought this game would be: Team Fortress 2 with more weapon loadouts. I loved TF2 (and still very occasionally do), so I hope I enjoy this as well. It'll be my first pre-order in long time. -

Yep, like someone said, I already took my chances with preordering a game this year (Crysis 2) and it didn't turn out so well...
-
I wont be grabbing Brink (Please dont hate me), since i gotta start saving up money again so that i can preorder the Ocarina of Time remake for 3DS.
I will always be Nintendo games > PC games, its just how i am.
And by Nintendo games i dont mean crappy third party shovelware. -
Actually, after looking at some videos... The game is pretty awesome!
Can't use my money for games though... Xperia Arc > Games at the moment
My current phone is a disgrace. -
Yea im pre ordering it. Even though I have no idea what the game is about it looks interesting, so I thought why not...
-
whatever happened to companies releasing playable demos?

I pre-ordered it, and it does look quite awesome, but ive seem some vids, and it seems to have ALOT of lag on the consoles... i just dont hope i carries over to PC. Im downloading it from D2D as we speak : )

Whats the point to pay for the game that isnt out yet?
(not the case with Brink already, i know)
Try and buy works best for me. I d rather pay extra $10 then pay $50 when game will sck. In fact i am having good enough time playing multiplayer in BF2 / CS / SCII so will only buy BEST single player games out there. Till i know its "best" no one is getting ma money

portal 2, l4d2, sc2, bc2 until bf3 comes out... these are plenty for me. how many games do we really need?

Also, can you please add me on steam? rafael199624 -
Game is plagued with issues that should not be in a retail version....sound issues, invisible player bug, server and client crashes, lag whether it be fps or network. Paying for betas is getting old....
-
-
It just makes everyone go invisible for yourself only. I've had it happen 3 times, annoying have to restart game to see or hear.....
-
yeah....the game is not that great at all
-
Really liking the game hah although I haven't come across invisible players through my 6 hours with the game so far.. the sound issue yes, haven't had it crash but alt-tab takes forever to come back to life.
The true class based system is what I'm enjoying a lot. I feel too many people are coming into this game with a deathmatch mindset and it kind of sucks. People aren't playing into their class enough. It's not where you select any class and it's just a secondary thing for you to try to get a high K/D ratio. I see a lot of people playing like that and it's frustrating. The classes in this game really force you to be a balanced team and utilize those certain members. Only certain classes can complete specific objectives etc. Once you unlock a few abilities and simply doing the challenges unlocks nearly ALL the customization stuff, you'll be good to go. As a medic, I went for extra bars of energy to further enable myself to heal and revive more often per life, toss in a regen buff and light body style I just zip from place to place throwing out heals. Aside from the glitches/bugs, I like the gameplay and style very much. -

..hmm...maybe motion blur is killing my fps too.

advanced graphics editor for Brink. Just don't turn on HBAO lol. so bad. -
Having Fun with the game btw
A good break from all those same old shooters

it looks like there are two settings that can turn off effects. From the author of the program:

Wait, Brink uses OpenGL?! Isn't it kinda outdated? ._.
What's the OpenGL version? -
^ not exactly sure but yeah I think there is OpenGL stuff because when I installed the 11.5a drivers it gave me an OpenGL error so I uninstalled them and went back to my bootcamp 11.2 drivers and all is well. Not sure if OpenGL is outdated or not, just not commonly used for games on Windows clients although it's the most common on OSX game ports.
-
OpenGL is not inherently out of date... it is standardized API that has been around for years and has been continually updated. Additionally AMD performance is not behind on other OpenGL games. Also, Brink is based on the Doom 3/Quake 4/Quake Wars engine, which is not the Quake 3 engine. It doesn't really matter though, because Splash Damage says they rewrote the rendering system. Now, let's not diss a game just because of its technology. I want real criticisms before I shell out $50 for a game.
-
Some users are reporting that 11.2 catalyst is working a lot better for Brink. This is funny b/c that's what I've been running to play Brink and didn't have any complaints about performance. It's what came stock for my MBP. So Magus you might want to try it?
Previous Catalyst? Drivers 64bit
ATI Radeon? Video Card Drivers 32bit
Anyone else pre-ordering Brink?
