Yeah, i kinda like it, you can adjust your sensitivity on the fly, by how hard you push on the touchpad. If you want to be better with it set your mouse speed MUCH higher.

Interesting. In a lot of my online games, I have to use right click a lot, so before my lappy came, I practiced on my bro's touchpad, and found it comfortable to lay my thumb over the mouse buttons, and use my index finger to aim, and my left hand for WASD. Unfortunately, the fingerprint scanner wedged between the 2 mouse buttons makes it uncomfortable for me :(

i've done it, i wouldn't recommend it. If you like to spray an auto from far off then generally it works. the only problem is up close gun battles :D

Played Doom 3 and I actually did pretty good. Didn't want to go near CSS. I hate the default key's anyway.

I played an old game I play with a close friend called SHOGO:MAD(Mobile Armor Division) Really fun old shooter. Anyway, I didn't have a mouse, my laptop's touchpad didn't work and my friend wanted to play a game, so I said screw it and used the crappy pointing stick on my old Dell 4150. I actually didn't do horrible, but I died a LOT. It was very difficult with a bad pointing stick and unresponsive mouse keys, much harder than a touchpad. =P

I've tried it in an RTS, its pretty hard. I'd much rather get a real mouse and then just pwn everyone. ;)

That just sounds hard. I messed with HL2 on the touchpad, and just couldn't get it going. I am not too good at FPS's, although I love them dearly... :(

Same. I forgot to take my mouse to a LAN party once, and had to use the touchpad to play BF2. Wasn't TOO bad, but my hand got sore after a while.

LOL, can I interest you in some kneecap warmers?

I don't even like to use the touchpad for normal use unless I have no other options. I don't have the touchpad skills to do much more than simple point and click.

Playing FPS with the touchpad would be suicide for me.

I actually just did it last week. I was sitting outside the physics building waiting for class and decided to load up F.E.A.R. for a bit. I just upped the mouse sensitivity, and all was fine. The lack of a scroll wheel sucked though. I had to resort to using the number keys to switch weapons... lame. But actually shooting and aiming wasn't bad... but not good either. Still I voted that I pwnd. Cause I didn't stink.

Once, when I had no mouse on an old IBM thinkpad. Except, that had the nipple instead of the touchpad? Which I find a bit more managable. Course, the killer was that the layout meant your hands had to be kinda criss crossed to reach the keys you needed properly.

I did ok-ish - not great, but not so bad that you'd notice! Would rather not game at all then game using a touchpad really....

I choose the "I pwned" option, not because I did but because I didn't really stink either :D

Actually I don't have a mouse for my notebook right now and always play Halo using the touchpad *Gasp* . Yeah, I'm used to it and can still slay (mostly newbs lol). I sorta like the feeling of having the mouse buttons/touchpad closer together, but its just a different feel. I'm sure I'll have a pleasant experience when i get my mouse.

I once had 3 headshots with an touchpad which would be impossible to do with the mouse, I guess it was luck hehe :)

But I think it is playable, you just need to turn up the sensitivity.

I'd say try if you're itching for a little challenge. After all, u can brag how youre kill victims were pawned by a touchpad. Being killed by a person playing on a touchpad must be really bad for your self-esteem.

I find it quite enjoyable and whilst its not as accurate as a mouse its not horrible either. I just make sure the sensitivity is high and set space to shoot, alt for jump and b for secondary fire and I can manage quite well in Unreal Tournament. Not tried it online but I've nearly completed the single player mode with it.

I played COD (single player) on a notebook using only the touchpad...it was okay, I wouldn't recommend it at other than Easy/Recruit mode...

I also play Guild Wars with a touchpad...this isn't as difficult as playing FPS...but it is a bit tricky giving all the clicking you have to do.

The other day I was playing bf2 over a friends on my touchpad (I forgot my mouse) and I was thinking "I'm not doing at all bad with this". Well, then I hopped in a chopper and was flying around thinking "I might start playing full time with the mousepad" because I was doing REALLY well. Then I go in for the kill on this tank. I start to gain speed as I tilt the nose of my Cobra down. I fire off my first missile and it hits so I launch the rest as fast as I can and destroy the tank. There just so happens to be a small hill where I need to pull up. *Frantically running finger downwards across mousepad* thats when I remembered how IMPOSSIBLE it is to pull up out of a dive in a jet or a chopper with the mousepad. Needless to say my gunner was a wee bit pissed that I flew us into the side of a hill.
