Anyone going to play Warhammer Online

I was just wondering if anyone in my favorite notebook community is going to be playing Warhammer online.

 

Sorta looks like a polished version of World of Warcraft.

(waits for people to bash this post)

 

I'm definitely going to try it out but I have decided against pre-ordering it after wasting my money too many times.

 

I can't wait for it. Looks like an awesome new spin on WoW. No more lions that don't drop fur...

 

I played l2 for a long time. I started following war awhile back. i think it's going to be the next big mmorpg. from what i hear vanguard and aoc kinda bombed.

 

nail on head...It looks like they took wow and graphically updated it in 2005 or 2006. So its not at the level AoC is graphically, and not as cartoonish as WoW is. As for gameplay I heard its OK, but Im not paying $50 + subscription for "OK".

 

I've always been a warhammer fan, and I'm looking forward to it. I'll try it out before I buy it first. I'm torn between this or waiting for the KOTOR MMO.

 

Yay someone agrees. I watched some of the gameplay videos, and all I saw was WoW with a new action bar

 

I've been looking at it. I have several friends that are going to play. I have one that's doing the beta test and he says he loves it. I came in really late to the whole WoW thing so I just thought it would be kinda cool to start something from the very beginning!

 

Yeah and graphics from the 2005-2006 era...

 

It's funny to read comments regarding WAR from people who probably never touched a mmo-game before WOW. The producers of WAR, Mythic, are responsible for one of the best PVP oriented games to date; Dark Ages of Camelot. Personally I can't wait to try a game that has been DESIGNED around pvp and rvr. Making it similar to wow is in my eyes just a very smart design move, look how popular wow is. What I do trust Mythic with on the other hand is to design an actual, playable, player versus player environment.

Most mmo's that come out today are built and designed around PVE and pvp is added as an afterthought (AoC anyone? or wow for that matter). I laugh and poke smelly sticks at games without entertaining pvp.

I like the fact that you can actually level by pvping, and also the tome of knowledge.

I was in wow OB and was unimpressed. I'll be in WAR OB and I think I am going to love it. I'm looking forward to more things in war then when i was in wow. I even got my start playing blizzard games and am a loyalist to alot of their titles.

 

I will be playing it. I have well over tons of time in closed beta to make a decision on the game and I purchased a CE for myself and another for my father.

 

Release date was announced, September 18th! NDA drop next week! Open Beta starts on the 15th!

 

i need a game like it to chill .. but i cant do monthly fees since i live in somewhere with no Visa/Credit cards etc.

 

Purchase game time cards with cash than.

 

The combat looks really slow and boring and the world looks boring and generic. Plus, the graphics really suck. I don't get why people are so excited for Warhammer.

 

Good pvp and large scale pvp battles that work.

Well designed environment to play against thinking, breathing fellow players instead of a scripted computer entity. FUN!
