Hey guys does anyone have this gpu? I'm looking at getting an asus g53sx-xa1 and it has the 2gb 560 which is the nerfed version from what I understand. What I wanna know is what games you guys play with this gpu and how well it plays them.

I'm gonna play wow (should have no problem), maybe old republic and diablo 3. I understand that they're mmos and they typically have low requirements so that a lot of people can play them.

But do you play any fps with it as well and what can I expect? Thanks.

Why not look at something like a Sager NP8130, which costs about the same, yet has the full, proper 192-bit 560M? If it's a question of availability, most of the authorized resellers who frequent this form will work with you to make sure you're able to buy one.

Damn that was a quick reply. I'm looking at the asus because I love their reliability and their design especially the cooling system. My old asus lasted a long time until someone spilled juice on it.

Ill probably never play crysis or metro since I have an xbox and ill just play fps on there but I do wanna be able to play games on reasonably high settings. My old laptop had a intel gma 4500 so I look at this as a huge upgrade.

Brand has nothing to do with it, everyone has their ups/downs.

I have a g50v that was never moved from a cooling pad with a blown mobo...

You should go with something from MSI which in my opinion, has a better cooling system. I am using a GTX 570m and after 2 hours of playing BF3 on max settings, my overclocked card only hits 66-69 Celsius. That's about 20 degrees less than what my Asus G51 with a GTX 260m would max out at.

If you go with a MSI Barebones System, your looking at a GTX 570m for about the same price your probably getting that Asus for. In the end, performance trumps everything. You will get a lot more out of the 570 than you will with the 560. Also, the MSI GPU's can be replaced if you want to upgrade in a year or so. Can't upgrade Asus GPU's.

I like Asus products. I've owned two Asus laptops, multiple MOBO's, the OG Transformer and the Transformer Prime. I just like having better performance for roughly the same cost.
