I would imagine you should be able to run it at 1024x768 with textures on medium, geomotries on medium, etc. I have a 6400 turbocache which is probably worse then the X1400 and can happily run 1024x768 with textures on medium, geomotries on medium, view distance 100%, lighting on low, shadows on low, no AF. The best thing you can do is try it out! Use this in the console to check out your frames per second, I'd recommend trying to keep it above 35 at all times:

    renderer.showfps 1

yeah Im sure with low to med youll be fine, with all medium it may get laggy. I played with low-med(mostly low) @800x600 res on my ati 200m without lag so Im sure youll be OK. But I will recomned getting 2gb of ram as bf2 is a HUGE ram hog.

Play it on my x1400, normally at 800x600, with all settings at medium (stupid 1.3 patch) except I turn shadows off (worthless IMO and help speed up game). I used to be able to play at 1024x768 with everything high and shadows off, but once I upgraded to the 1.3 patch it got a little choppy, nothing too bad but i didnt feel like dealing with it in a firefight.

I never noticed any lag when when going to patch 1.3. But I agree there is nothing worse then lag in a firefight. Currently I have things set default on my new lappy, but with ram Ill up to max settings. I know my x1600 and core duo can handle them now, but with the higher settings I will thrash hard and that will cause lag. Im already on the border with 1gb (900mb usage and sometimes 1gb).

And you have a stock X1400? I really don't see how that is possible, i am running Omega drivers and run the game at 1280X800 with all settings on medium and textures on low, and the game runs decently.

1024x640, everything medium and geom on high, 30-50 fps. looks fine, but another gig of ram would help. a lot.

i downloaded the demo and it plays around 30 to 45 at 800x600, the best you can do it's to try it yourself, so go and download the demo to.

I also use Omega drivers. I initially set the settings on medium but when I noticed no lag I tried upping the settings to high. It worked fine and then today I tried using aa and again no problems. Don't know what to say but maybe just give it a try?

are your textures on high too? I've heard this can bog down the card a lot, i set mine to medium at first noticed slight lagg, then dropped them down to low and it ran better.

On my W3J with the X1600, everything is on HIGH. It runs very well.

    X1400 doesn't even compare to the X1600.

textures are at whatever the default is, I haven't changed them. I would just recommend playing around with the various settings and seeing what you can pull off. Also make sure that you close all the applications that you aren't using including anti-virus.
