Anyone here still play Planetside?

Hey guys,

Interested to see if anyone here plays/did play Planetside? I played the trial for it years ago. But unfortunately due to work commitments, didn't continue. Now, years later, I've stumbled back across it. Has it changed much since the earlier days? I know when I played it, there were no caves, or Mechs.

More importantly, are there any trials for the game? I had a look, couldn't find any. Real keen on trying it out again!

Any info as always much appreciated guys.

it's a fairly old game. i don't know if they're still going to support it for too much longer.

i tried that game out over a year and some ago too cause my friend played it. it was alright, i just think the graphics were so low compared to modern games that i was instantly turned away.

 

I played it for a few years, been playing it off and on for the last 2 or 3. I really wish they'd make a Planetside 2, no other game has come close to the MMOFPS formula (Huxley...not quite) as Planetside.

It is still a great game, though it is fairly important to get involved with a tight group of friends or a friendly Outfit (Clan/Guild) if you intend to enjoy the game for an extended period. Nothing else does PVP better, then again, few games are ballsy enough to include ZERO NPCs. The graphics are becoming fairly dated, even for an MMO, but the gameplay is still top notch.

Seriously, Planetside 2, someone get going on that.

 

huxley literally looks like planetside 2. of course, its not out yet. no word on it.

 

Wow! Does Planetside even have server still up???

Now, if someone took EVE and Planetside and sprinkled in some Outcast (look it up) all into a blender that would be some kick-a$$ MMO!

 

It really doesn't, it's more of a lobby style arena combat kinda game.

Nothing compares to 500+ zerg battles during the PS peak, gimme a proper sequel. :<

I second that! No other game has yet replicated a three way continental assault on a single base, complete with 200+ players, giant robots, base shields, bombing runs, orbital cannons, flanking maneuvers, or last second base recaps!

One reason why the graphics aren't so bad in Planetside, the gameplay is still superior and the concept has yet to be matched in an FPS form.

Still looking for a trial though! I can't understand why they don't have a trial available?
