And were there any issues because of it?

You don't need to uninstall old drivers before installing new drivers, but it's always recommended.

Guilty. I've been doing that with all drivers since I got my Asus G1S in June. So far I haven't had any problems, and for each new driver where people report performance increases, I have seen likewise. From the way my screen resizes during the install procedure, it looks to me as if simply running the setup of the new drivers removes the old drivers first anyway.

People only manually uninstall first because in some cases parts of the old driver may interfere with the new one, and cause errors, or performance decreases. Rarely does not uninstalling the last driver actually give you any problems.
btw, kinda unrelated, but in Vista you can hot swap video cards on a desktop that don't require a PCIe power cable.

have to mention that theese new drivers gave me a 100+ 3d marks boost. hitting the 4.85K now.

I haven't uninstalled the 169.02 driver, i installed the 169.04 over the 02....
-
I usually always do it, I just upgraded to the new drivers and went from 3000-3458
Anyone install 169.04 drivers over older drivers instead of uninstalling first?
