Does anyone know when

When they are out.
But, Terry Makedon did say sometime this week. Always expect CCC to be out last week of the money, for whatever odd reason, ATi thinks drivers should be released end of the month instead of beginning of the month.
Also whenever they are approved for WHQL release from MS labs. -
They should be out this week.
-
It's out ! . The website hasn't been updated yet but the mobility downloader is downloading 10.5
Uploaded with ImageShack.us -
hopefully the desktop versions are out because i'm ready for some new drivers
-
-
Downloaded but still says my catalyst is version 10.5 .. Maybe i downloaded PC catalyst.. Any link to mobility 10.5 version? Thanks!
-
ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver
Now with hydravision , avivo converter and stuff -
Avivo was great when it worked, buzzed through conversions ;D.
-
Here are direct links to the CCC 10.5. Enjoy.

Something wrong with these...
Catalyst 10.5 should be driver version 8.74 and they are for desktop.
Or is my installer and Catalyst 10.5 broken because it says 8.73. Looks like they shafted mobile users... -

Eh, I'll stick with 10.4 for now. I typically only install even numbered driver releases unless something is broken.
-
These are 8.7 32, 10.4 was 8.7 23. Not the world's best choice of versioning, at least for the slightly dyslexic among us.
Performance and IQ both seem to be a wash on my desktop's 4870, though I don't have any super-modern games like BC2 or Crysis to test them out on. But uh, TF2 and CS:S still run at a billion FPS. -
-
-
Edit: Official release notes confirm it:
-
Odd, on Guru3D there are some screenshots of 8.74 with 10.5
Anyways, it seems with 10.5 for 4xxx series the fix for BC2 load times dissapeared. So wait a day for hotfix to come.
Someone has discovered a refresh bug that was fixed 4 years ago with HDMI output. So that has become borked again.
DXVA is still borked for 480 and SD videos.
There are a lot of users having problems with 10.5 crashing, BSOD, black screen, on and on.
For desktop users, many have the downclocking in 2D mode messed up.
A lot of users on Guru3D skipped these and rolled back to 10.4a or the leaked 8.74 drivers. -
anyone know if these drivers fix the 5870's running at 3D clocks all the time unless you use AMD GPU clock tool??
-
No clue, but it was a big performance downgrade on my Envy over the 10.6a alpha's. I'm sticking with the 8.74 unsigned drivers.
-
These don't actually seem to fix the BFBC2 load times.
Come on ATI. -
IF you are a HD5870M user, you may have noticed it stays in 3D clocks all the time and never downclocks in 2D or IDLE.
I think it's atrocious that ATi allows desktop versions to downclock to 200/300 while ours remain 700/1000

That's weird. I use AMD GPU Clock Tool and definitely can downclock my gpu to 200/300 any time. If you're refering to an automatic downclock, then yeah, it would be nice. I like the manual control though.

Semp at TWeaKFoRCe.CoM your source for the latest Video Drivers announced there will be a XG Xtreme Catalyst 10.5 Mobile Driver!!!
I used their mobile Nvidia's when I had an Nvidia for years. So happy news for me.
HDTV Pixel Formatting
Catalyst AI Tweak
Triple Buffering Tweaks
Main 3D rendering Perf. Tweaks
Area Anisotropic Filtering Tweaks

So no need to download this one, and wait for the onethat ziddy123 said, right guys?
-
Depends on you. In the past for me I saw performance boosts on their Nvidia drivers without noticeable difference in IQ, at least these to these eyes.
- They were always stable also for me, install well, perform well, problem free.
- Compared to Dox where 70% of the time the drivers failed to install and one problem after another.
So I like them and considering Semp now has ATi GPUs, hopefully they will do the same for ATi.
Also there is another guy making modified ATi drivers, pretty much combining ATi Tray Tools into Catalyst Control Center is Cell-Systems

Do you know when tweakforce will release their version?

Does anyone know if you can install these drivers on Sony Vaio computers. Because Sony is opted out of Ati's driver programme thingy (I have no idea why).
-
So far seems you can install you just can't download them. A really simple preventative measure from ATi, and really ineffective. You can usually find direct download links to drivers to install on your Sony.
-
Yay that's great news! (I'm about to buy a Sony Vaio). But why did Sony opt out in the 1st place?
-
-
This is desktop related but the new driver resolved my multi display issue when ATI Overdrive is enabled. So hopefully it fixes other issues for others as well.
-
Anyone know the difference between the two driver versions listed below?
10-5_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_enu.exe
10-5_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc.exe
I thought that ATI had merged their desktop and laptop drivers so that they were one and the same? -
btw, anyone having this problem: I know the drivers do not work with Sony BUT I installed 10.3 from a direct link, worked fine with no problems. However, when I install 10.4 or 10.5, it installs without errors but my resolutions change and I can't pick 1600x900 anymore. The highest resolution is like 1280x800 or something like that. -
They say they fixed the load time problems with BFBC2 for the 4xxx series, but they actually didnt. So they release a "hotfix" but release no mobility version. They did this exact same with the 10.4 release.
I said something on their forums, but you know what happened? they deleted my thread and posts and banned my account. -
Desktop version has no improvement for me but totally broke OpenGL games crazy textures/flickering specially quake live and such /sigh

Comparison of GTX 480, GTX 470 vs HD5870 and HD5850 using the latest drivers for both.
First thing that pops into my head. I wonder if Nvidia will be taking any action against Techspot for this. Would not surprise me, so will be keeping my eyes open for that tasty gossip.
I was also surprised by these results since I don't find 10.5 that great. Seems to me 10.3 and 10.4 were faster.
10.5 and 257.15 Beta
The results are, surprising. GTX 480 as expected wins, but the margin of win is very surprising.
HD5850 domination over GTX 470 is also very surprising. As in comparison to the two top guns which were often very close, this on the other hand was a thrashing.
Metro 2033 with tessellation also proves to be win for GTX 480. While doing so, Metro 2033 again proves what a giant heap of garbage that game is, so difficult to run, yet looks, plays so bad. At least Crysis was beautiful and the game mechanics were interesting.

aren't those desktop scores though, so ultimately, they don't help us here... hence, doesn't matter much right? I'm pretty sure there are significant differences in clock speeds/etc between those you listed and our mobile gpu's, so not really fair comparison.
-
Does anyone have experience with the 10.6 alpha leaked drivers? I downloaded them on strags (and i own a Toshiba) and they opted out of Ati official drivers, so i need to use the unpacked ones. Anyway, are the 10.5's better or the 10.6? Should i downgrade to the 10.5s?

Anyone know when 10.5 catalyst drivers are out
