Yeaup, Aspyr is currently developing Guitar Hero 3 for PC (as well as Mac), and is scheduled to release it on November 12 (5 more days!) And it's supposedly going to have downloadable songs in the future. Isn't it such a big comfort for us who don't have a console? I'm going to buy that as soon as it comes out.

and it costs 74.99 on Newegg (currently on Back-Order although the game isn't released yet)

I would be a little excited, except the requirements are those of a rich mans PC.

Which system requirement are you talking about? This one on the Aspyr website?

    http://www.aspyr.com/product/game_specs/85

There's a typo, the minimum processor speed is actually 1.8GHz, not 2.8GHz. Because the recommended is only 2.4. And the graphics card requirement is not THAT bad...

Wait, wait, wait... why does this have those kinds of requirements? An nVidia 7600... dual core processor... 2GB RAM.... it's Guitar Hero! Gears doesn't even have those kinds of system requirements. WTF?

Isn't Guitar Hero akin to the game Simple Simon? I never had any interest in it quite frankly. Push a few buttons to pretend you're playing a guitar? I guess it's no different than pressing buttons pretending you're wielding a sword, but I dunno. Just seems different.

No, I'm not looking forward to it. As a musician, I find it degrading, and also, the choice of songs is poor in taste.

But that's only a personal opinion...

well the game is fun im looking really forward to it but i didnt expect the spec requirements to be that high!

sorry some of us arent really pro musicians who can rock with the rockstars music, this is probably close as any amateur will get to rocking it in style =)

i like guitar hero and frets on fire =)

I personally find Guitar Hero fun, and look forward to buying it one day (though I'll probably pick up GHII instead for the better music selection). I play guitar in real life, as well as dabble in other things, and I don't find Guitar Hero degrading at all. It's just a game, and a well done one at that.

I agree, I'm musician too... I make music, and I study music, and I don't find playing it degrading. I guess the system req is that high because you really can't afford any lag or glitch in a song, or it'll throw you off in every musical aspect.

    what are the specs?

I can see the need for decent CPU but not graphics. Probably just a piss poor port to PC. (say that ten times fast)
