So bought Crysis warhead to test out my HDX16's gaming capabilities. The game auto detected my settings and put everything on "gamer". But when I play, there is lag once I get into heavy action. Also sometimes half the screen turns white. So I changed the settings to "mainstream" and it got better but still some lag issues. Is this normal for the 130m or 9600m since its a similar GPU? My hdx16 is at max spec'ed as you can see in my sig.

Also I'm a causal gamer so I don't even know how to calculate FPS but the game gets choppy when you've got like 10 enemies.

    ~Medium Settings ~1280*720 (or ~900), yes.

they neglected this card has 128 bit memory bus... so on paper, it's not bad all of that VRAM! for example... can't use it. In short it's picking it up as a desktop 9600 GT (similar, but 256bit)...

turn it down...to like 1280x800, you will see a massive increase in performance. Then if you want, just keep bringing up the res so that you get a balance between performance and quality.

So you ended up getting the HDX. I ended up buying the ASUS G50Vt-X5.

I have a 9800M GS that I play 1366x768 or 1280x720 on medium at good frame rates, 35 average 50 max, minimum doesnt drop below the 24 mark. The 130M coupled with that nice T9800 should play it at 720 P in medium no problems high is a bit of a stretch as it is on myne. CPU overclocked, and DOX 182.05 drivers grabs me a few extra fps in high.

EDIT - I should clarify im running crysis not warhead version.

Yeah I got the HDX16. It was the best value for the money IMO. Thanks guys. I didn't even notice the resolution. I have it set at 1920x1080 which is ridiculously high. Seems to run world better now at lower res.

You should be fine if you run the game at lower resolution. There are higher end cards that will struggle with CW at max resolution on a 1920 display.

When you set it at optimal I don't think warhead takes into consideration the resolution you have set..It's a guess I'm not quite sure. Like its been said try using resolutions around 1280x720. I play Warhead on gamer at 1366x768 on my x5 with the 185.81 driver and I get 20-30fps depending what level I'm on.

I think you are right. I've set it to 1366x768 now. It plays like knife thru butter.

    GT 130M shouldn't go above 1280x720.

I'm pretty sure the "Optimal" button just sets everything to "Gamer" settings, regardless of your actual hardware. It did that to my custom desktop, which is understandable, but also my Studio 15 (lol, playing Crysis on this thing), and my friend's Macbook with an Intel integrated graphics chip.
