I really loved curse of monkey island, especially for the cartoony hand drawn look, however, the new versions have left that out this time around, and instead put out a game with cartoony 3d models. So I was wondering how is the general quality of the game, is it poor? How is the funny lol? Basically does it look like a game or someone on a part time job trying to make one.

If you want to feel the same excitement than when lucasart games were something new back in early ninties: you'll be disappointed.

But it's not because these games are different from the original ones. Very good humour (I like the "Marquis de Singe" passage :)), very nice graphics and animation.

Also the story is getting a bit more interesting. Yes Helene has been kidnapped again....but something is happening to Lechuck and Guybrush. I will not tell more.

The disappointment is because not matter how close you are to the original, you will never have the same pleasure than when you were discovering it.

I bought it, but haven't played it yet and probably won't until I go back and beat Escape. Years ago, I got stuck on that monkey fight near the end of the game because I kept trying to outmatch LeChuck.

I thought Curse and Escape were plagued with forgettable storylines, but I still enjoyed the humor. I remember most of what happened in Secret and LeChuck's Revenge, but I can't recall anything about Curse other than Elaine being turned into solid gold at the beginning. I pretty much completely forgot what happened in Escape apart from the SCUMM Bar being renamed the Lua Bar and the bimbo waitress in Planet Threepwood not recognizing the restaurant's namesake.

i liked the cartoon one better not the dos or the new one, the one in the middle. i forgot, but it was hand drawn cartoony and had so much humor in it. wasted hours on that game

That was curse of monkey island, that one was my favorite one. Hmmm, Yea, I dunno. I really want to try the news ones, but again I wish they were done with that old hand drawn style, that was really cool.
